In celebration and collaboration forStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,Fortnitefeatured the end of the Skywalker Saga in its game. And this isn’t even something new for Epic Games' wildly popular Battle Royale with prior crossovers including limited-timeFortniteevents forMarvel’s Avengers: Infinity WarandEndgame, the inclusion of Batman and Gotham City,Stranger Things, the NFL, and even the DJ Marshmello. While noStar WarsorAvengersmovies are coming in 2020, there are a lot of cool things in pop culture that could be great for the next bigFortniteevent. Here are 10 big events that we’d like to seeFortnitecrossover with this year.
Fast & Furious 9
Very little is currently known about the ninth installment of theFast & Furiousfranchise, but it’s due to be released worldwide on May 22 and will be a direct sequel to 2017’sThe Fate of the Furious. While the rights toFast & Furiousare owned by Universal, lead actor Vin Diesel is very much in charge of the series' future, and he’s no stranger to games or crossovers.
Fast & Furious: Crossroadsis due to releasethe same month asFast & Furious 9as well, making it a good time for fans of the racing genre.Fortnitehas some experience with vehicles already, so taking that a step further by introducing Vin Diesel’s Dodge Charger or Paul Walker’s Lancer EVO VII alongside skins and other fun items for a couple of weeks before the release of Fast & Furious 9 would be fun for fans.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Of all the events on this list,a crossover forGhostbusters: Afterlifefeels like the most fitting event thatFortnitecould do this year. Similar to 2018’s Halloween sequel/reboot which acted as a follow up to the events of the first film while ignoring any subsequent film,Ghostbusters: Afterlifeskips the 2016 reboot and takes place 30 years afterGhostbusters IIwith Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts all reprising their roles.Fortnite’scartoon world is perfect for some iconic OG Ghostbuster skins, proton pack backpacks, the Ectomobile, and a return of the Robot vs. Monster event, only with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man on the island instead.

007: No Time To Die
There are few characters in fictional history that are even close to as iconic and instantly recognizable as Agent 007: James Bond. And later this year, Universal Pictures will be releasingNo Time To Die, the twenty-fifth installment in the long-running franchise and the final appearance of Daniel Craig before someone new takes over - potentially the first female ‘00’ agent, Lashana Lynch. Now, a James Bond andFortnitecrossover event doesn’t need to be on the scale of Star Wars because that doesn’t fit either brand particularly well. In this case, a simple skin pack or LTM in the same vein asFortnite’scrossover with John Wickwould be more than enough to celebrate the franchise and give players something they’ll really enjoy.
Wonder Woman 1984
While not every film in the DC Extended Universe hasn’t been as well-received, it’s safe to say that the DCEU hasn’t had the same impact on pop culture as The Avengers and Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. With that being said, characters like Wonder Woman have found huge success and star Gal Gadot is returning to the role inWonder Woman 1984, a colorful 80’s themed sequel due to be released in June. Just combine the Batman and Avengers event mechanics and suddenlyFortnitehas a cool looking Wonder Woman skin fit with her Battle Armor, Sword and Shield, the Lasso of Truth, Bracelets of Victory, and an Invisible Jet glider.
Marvel’s Avengers
Marvel Studios may not be releasing an Avengers film for a few years after the events ofAvengers: Endgame, but Square Enix will be releasing aDestiny-likeMarvel’s Avengersgame at the end of Maywith six playable charactersincluding the core team from the films as well as new heroes like Ms. Marvel. To make it worthwhile,Fortniteshould bring back theEndgameevent and expanded the character roster with new heroes including Ant-Man and Ms. Marvel. Offer some unique skins and let players locate iconic weapons as power drops on the map to become their favorite heroes. There’s no need to fix what isn’t broken - just bring the event back and make it better than ever with more heroes than ever before.
2020 Olympic Games
Moving away from video games and films for a brief second, the Summer Olympic Gamesare returning this July after the standard four-year break and will be taking place in Tokyo, Japan. The Olympic Games have been running for 124 years now with the Summer Games held once every four years and the Winter Games held in between. These multi-sport events involve professional athletes from every country in the world competing in over 300 different events to be the best in their field and represent their country.
Like the NFL crossover,Fortnitecould do something big for the Olympic Games. Ideally, that would mean mini-games, separate limited-time modes, or events set up in the map that are optional while the Battle Royale game rages on. At a minimum, there needs to be skins and jerseys that represent the flag of each country.

Godzilla vs. Kong
The pitch here is simple: bring backFortnite’sgiantRobots vs. Monsters eventfrom a few months ago and have them fight on the island during a game of Battle Royale, except that this time around one of them is a giant version of Godzilla and the other is a giant version of King Kong. Neither of these iconic monsters needs any sort of introduction, and now that they’re coming together once again on the big screen this November, Epic Games already has all the tools it needs to create a great crossover event. Depending on the scale of the event, there’s potential to add in more famous Kaiju from the film series including Mothra, Rodan, or King Ghidorah from last year’sGodzilla: King of the Monsters.
A Quiet Place: Part II
Knowing that Epic Games isn’t afraid of doing horror-themed crossover after it released a Demogorgon skin and teleports to theUpside Down world for the release ofStranger Things 3, there is a lot of potential to do something fun and unique for the release ofA Quiet Place: Part II. ForCall of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout Battle Royale mode, developer Treyarch included sections of the map where AI Zombies could be found protecting loot.
That sort of idea could work very well with the alien creatures fromA Quiet Placeby placing them in random locations ofFornite’s Battle Royale map and have them protecting loot. These creatures have no sight and are attracted by sound which could lead to great gameplay moments, forcing players to avoid firefights in the vicinity of the creatures and stealth their way to new rewards.

Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077is the next big open-world RPG from the developers ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a game widely considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time. Due to release in April,Cyberpunk 2077first gained attention for its depiction of a dystopian steampunk future where body modifications and tech advancement is a normal part of modern society.Fortnitecould make use of its setting in great ways by redesigning certain locations on the map as it did withGotham City in the Batman crossoverand introduce new vehicles and weapons from the setting. Keanu Reeves has already been inFortniteonce before for John Wick, so it would make sense to have him back as Johnny Silverhand fromCyberpunk 2077.
Venom 2
Venom 2is due out in theaters in October after its commercially successful debut back in 2018. Right now, there isn’t a whole lot of big events coming in the second half of 2020, soVenom 2seems like a sure bet to round out the year before the Holidays and next-generation consoles completely take over. Epic Games could offer the usual new skins for characters like Venom and Carnage, and players would love that. It could also take that a step further and have Symbiote power drops hidden around the map just like it did with the Avengers mode, turning players into powerful monsters with new and exciting abilities and attacks.
Every timeFortnite’s numbers appear to be dropping off, Epic Games already has the next big thing lined up and ready to fire on all cylinders. Both of theMarvel’s Avengersevents brought in huge player counts as well as sales for additional costumes, and it’s hard to imagine that a Star Wars event of this scale isn’t doing just the same. From fast cars inFast & Furiousto the return of the Avengers, the Ectomobile fromGhostbustersor minigames and country based costumes for the Olympic Games, players will be in for a treat ifFortniteevents cross overwith even one of these big 2020 events.

Fortniteis out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
