Infamous streamer Adin Ross has doubled down on a controversial tweet about genders in a newYouTubevideo, dismissing hate speech accusations that thousands on social media have been sending his way in recent days. His response to the online backlash arrived shortly afterTwitch handed Ross his eighth and final banover a broadcast incident.
Ross has recently taken to Twitter to proclaim that “there are only two genders” in all caps. The February 26 tweet was viewed over 62 million times within 48 hours of publication, sparking controversy led by accusations of anti-nonbinary hate speech. While that situation was still developing,Ross also spoke out against Twitchvia his new streaming platform Kick, arguing that his latest ban would not have been permanent if he was a woman.

The infamous streamer has now also responded to the backlash prompted by his gender-related tweet in a new video posted on YouTube. Over the course of roughly 13 minutes, Ross argued that his statement was an attempt to “cancel cancel culture” and that he’s not anti-LGBTQ, adding that he knows and loves “so many gay people.” The 22-year-old even mentioned he wants to get Jeffree Star on stream for a “discussion” on gender while positing that Star shares his binary views in the same breath, making it unclear what exactly would there be to discuss between the two. Regardless, the notion appears to be reminiscent ofRoss’s plans for a Kanye West streamwhich he ended up canceling in late 2022.
Ross’s comments on Star’s beliefs should be taken with some reservations because the streamer is hardly an authority on the famous YouTuber, as evidenced by the fact that he referred to him as a “she” in his latestYouTubevideo. The idea of hosting Star—who identifies as a male—on stream was most likely prompted by his recent criticism of “they” and “them” pronouns as “stupid” during a recent interview with Barstool Sports, whose podcast shared the controversial bit on TikTok in mid-February before removing it due to public backlash.
As for what’s next for Ross, the American content creator announced that his broadcasts will be moving to Kick just before he was permanently removed from Amazon’s streaming service. In a subsequent update,Twitch revealed it permabanned Ross due to unfiltered hateful chat conductthat he knowingly featured in one of his streams. This was not the first such penalty handed to the Internet celeb, who was already hit with a month-long Twitch ban less than a year ago due to use of “hateful slurs or symbols” forbidden by the platform’s community guidelines. The alarming chat conduct resulting in his final removal from the service was reportedly centered on anti-Semitic and otherwise racist speech.
