Though rival company WWE has a tight hold on the market, AEW is set to release a game now confirmed to beAEW Fight Forever. The AEW game will be created by developer Yuke’s, which was previously known for making games likeWWE 2K19.Its roster has yet to be confirmed, but it’s possible it will include such wrestlers as Kenny Omega, CM Punk, Britt Baker, and MJF, so fans of the promotion have high expectations.
With such an eclectic group of playable characters there are going to be a handful of no-brainers, and afew surprises like Cody Rhodesor Brodie Lee, whose recent death affected much in the community. Lee is a performer who had a career that spanned almost two decades, and successful runs in numerous prestigious organizations. Be it his superb matches with Rhodes, or his time as a founding member of The Wyatt Family, Lee was a stand-out thanks to a diverse move set and unique aesthetic. It would only be right to include him in the upcoming Yuke’s project as a way of remembering the impact he had on All Elite Wrestling.

Lee’s Impact on the Wrestling World
AEW was the home ofBrodie Lee up until his death in late 2020, only two years after the company was founded. He immediately found a place as the leader of The Dark Order, and had some great encounters with some of the promotion’s finest talent, including WWE veteran Jon Moxley. The way he so quickly found a place on the roster makes him a prime candidate for the upcoming video game.
To most, Lee’s time in WWE will be the most recognizable as a stable that consisted of himself (taking the name Luke Harper), Erick Rowan, and family patriarch Bray Wyatt. Harper was in fiveWWE 2Kgames between2K15and2K19, proving both his and the Wyatt Family’s high status in the company. However, his place in AEW felt far more natural. The roster ofWWE 2K22is already overcrowdedand DLC characters have been confirmed, so it’s unlikely Lee will be included in the title. With AEW’s project yet to confirm its entire roster, it would be a shame for him to not find a place.

Brodie Lee’s Unique Move Set
For a man who stood at six feet, five inches, Lee was far more athletic than most gave him credit for. Like The Undertaker, his intimidating frame didn’t prevent him from developing a diverse and refined move set that made him stand out. His efficiency in the ring is something that the upcoming titleAEW Fight Forevercan benefit greatly from, as he provides players with a character who can be used as a hulking brute with plenty of power bombs. Not only this, his surprising agility will make for an interesting match should opponentsselect the likes of Darby Allinor Sammy Guevara.
Lee’s place as the leader of The Dark Order would also mean that he should be a vital inclusion on the rostershould the confirmedFight Foreverstory modeinclude the stable. Though his time at AEW was short, Lee’s place in the company was huge, and the mode could potentially include story beats the company was going to use before his passing. It’s an angle that is unlikely to be explored, but Lee’s AEW stint was full of narrative potential.
There are many wrestlers that will inevitably be at the top of fans’AEW Fight Foreverwish list. Everyone has a favorite, and rooting for them every week is at the heart of the wrestling industry’s charm. Lee was inevitably one of them, and though he never received a shot at the AEW World Championship, his reign as TNT Champion was one that will be remembered. To honor his memory and place among professional wrestling' best,AEW Fight Forevershould include Lee as a playable character.
