Ahsokaepisode 6 finally showed fans the big blue bad of the series, withthe scary Grand Admiral Thrawnmaking his first live-action appearance. Fans also saw Ezra Bridger in live-action, which isn’t just a hologram this time. The episode had a lot to focus on, so the titular character did not make much of an appearance as she was traveling in the mouth of a star whale, but the moment where she did appear gave fans a few fun references.

In the first scene, fans see Ahsoka in her only appearance in the episode, along withher Jedi architect droid named Huyang. The two discuss how strange it is to travel in a star whale, and Ahsoka says, “I remember them from the stories you would tell us when we were younglings back at the temple.” Huyang responds by saying, “Ah, yes. History of the Galaxy, Parts One, Two, and Three.” Ahsoka then says, “One being the best, of course.” While giving a side eye to Huyang that almost looks like she is looking into the camera.

Fans believe this references the threeStar Warsfilm trilogies: the prequels, the original trilogy, and the sequel trilogy. This isn’t a direct reference to the three trilogies, as Ahsoka would’ve been told these stories beforeAttack of the Clonesand possibly beforeThe Phantom Menace. It could be a way for Dave Filoni or Rosario Dawson to share their favorite trilogy.

It’s no secret thatDave Filoni is a fan of the prequels, with most of hisStar Warsprojects taking place beforeA New Hope. So this could be a nod to his love of the prequels and will give all of the prequel fans something to talk about in the latestAhsokaepisode.

Aside from the prequel reference, the conversation includes Huyang starting one of his stories by saying, “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…” This is the first time the iconic phrase from theStar Warsopening crawl has been used outside its original context. This could also mean that the stories, or at least the opening crawl, are from the viewpoint of a droid like Huyang.
