Nintendo recently announced Summer Update - Wave 1 forAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, rolling out this Friday, July 3. The update will most notably be adding the ability to swim and dive in the game, with the trailer showing anAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsvillager in a wet suit. It’s now been confirmed by Nintendo exactly howAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers will get wet suits in the game.

Upon downloading the July 3 update forAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, players will discover that the Wet Suit clothing item has been added toNook’s Cranny. The wet suit will costNew Horizonsplayers 3,000 bells, so players do have to make a small purchase before they can partake in the game’s new swimming and diving activities.

The image released by Nintendo of wet suits in Nook’s Cranny shows a horizontal striped design, but there will be other designs available as well. It’s been confirmed that Nook’s Cranny will have different wet suit styles available to purchase each day, so players can keep checking back until they have the chance to purchase one that fits their taste. TheSummer Update - Wave 1 trailershowed a completely different wet suit than the one pictured below, so fans should have quite a bit of variety. It’s unclear at the time of this writing if wet suits will supportAnimal Crossing: New Horizonscustom designs or not, however.

Once players have their wet suit inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, they will be able to swim and dive for special animals and items, including scallops. Players can give scallops to the new NPC Pascal in exchange for mermaid-theme DIY recipes. There will likely also be some newNook Mileschallenges related to swimming and diving as well, though fans will have to wait for the July 3 update to learn more.

Meanwhile, theAnimal Crossing: New HorizonsSummer Update - Wave 1 will also be adding anew encounter with Gulliver. How exactly this Gulliver encounter differs from the previous one remains to be seen (besides the fact that he is wearing new clothes), but again, more information should come on July 3.
