Changes are coming toApex Legendsas Season 6 approaches its launch later this month. The biggest twist for players may be the fact that the latest addition to the roster isn’tTitanfall 2villain Ash, as many assumed after her reveal at theend of the long Broken Ghost quest. Instead, Rampart was introduced and she isn’t the only big twist the game has in store as a familiar Limited Time Mode is also getting more than a few tweaks.
Starting today, the officialApex LegendsTwitter account confirmed that the limited time mode Always Be Closing is coming back to the game. For those who don’t know, Always Be Closing was originally introduced in Season 3, dropping players inwith an evo-shield,which leveled up the more eliminations the player got. The big aspect to this mode is that the ring never stops closing, which dramatically increases the pace of a match. Naturally, this mode quickly became a fan favorite.

Whiledataminers may have discovered the mode’s comebackprior to the official reveal, what’s new about it wasn’t made clear. From August 11-18, players who participate in this mode now get a Mozambique and an Evo Shield. From that point forward, players will be on their own to find loot, level up the shield, and make sure to stay one step ahead of the constantly moving ring.
Of course,Apex Legendsplayers have quickly made the Mozambique into a meme, due to its generally underwhelming performance compared to other guns in its class like the Wingman. However, this LTM may be the boost it needs due to everyone being on the same page when the mode starts. Perhaps dropping into highly contested areas may be a decent strategy as the high closer quarters damage could help players level their shields fast than normal.
For now, players should be wrapping up any outstanding content left this season as time is quickly running out until the next one begins. While Respawn is still keeping many of its plan quiet, writerTom Casiello hinted that players would be experiencing new lorefor characters like Bangalore and Mirage. Fans are also speculating a new map will arrive called Olympus, a location that seems to be important to Lifeline and Octane. Fans are also speculating that Caustic may finally get his heirloom weapon as well.
Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Steam and Switch port coming later this year.
