Respawn delivered a small but incredibly valuable patch this past week when it finally squashed a potentially match-ruining bug in its hit battle royal game,Apex Legends.
Apex Legendshas consistently receivedbug fixes and balance changessince its launch, but the bug in question has somehow remained low profile enough to slip past Respawn since launch, according to some players.

The bug happened randomly in instances where a player was knocked down mid-action, but was able to then return to the weapon they were holding while in a downed state. This gave the player in question an incredible chance to deal damage to unsuspecting players. Suffice to say, even a brief opportunity to retaliate after being downed could completely change the end result of a match.
This past Thursday, the officialApexTwitter let players know that a patch for this insidious bug had finally been released. Nothing else was in the patch, but that is likely because a massive patch is coming whenSeason 5 begins May 12.
With this bug out of the way, it should ensure a smooth launch of Season 5 forApex Legendsand its new character, Loba. The newest legend is at the center of the new season, titled Fortune’s Favor, and she is looking for some revenge. Fortune’s Favor will tie directly into Season 4’s story, where Revenant assassinated Loba’s parents. Loba was a child during that season’s launch trailer, but now she is grown up and making a name for herself as a master thief, as seen in the new Stories from the Outlands episode.
Along with the new legend, there will be a new Battle Pass full of skins, banner items, quips, and skydive emotes. But Respawn also teased something called “Quests,” though they leftApexfans to frantically speculate over what that might entail for now.
Players who can’t wait until May 12 to drop should log on now to try out thelimited-time mode Battle Armor. As the name would imply, players will drop with body armor, a P2020 pistol, and two syringes. The mode will progress through each tier of armor over a few days, culminating in everyone dropping with the new Evo Armor on May 9, until Season 5 launches on May 12.
Apex Legendsis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
