Summary
With just over a week to go until the release ofArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Bandai Namco revealed the spec requirements for PC players to meet. In addition,Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconoffered two different spec requirements for PC players that either want to use ray-tracing or completely ignore it during gameplay.
As the sixth game in theArmored Coreseries,Armored Core 6is the first new entryin over a decade, as its predecessorArmored Core 5released in early 2012 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, despite developer FromSoftware’s reputation for slow, methodical combat that defined games such asElden Ring,Armored Core 6will have fast-paced, third-person mecha action. In addition, players will be able to customize their mech to suit their play style, and newcomers to the series can jump right in without having played previous entries as the game is independent of its predecessors. With the PC launch right around the corner, players interested in tryingArmored Core 6out will need to see if their own machine can run it.

On Twitter,Armored Core 6posted the minimum and recommended PC specs for the game. At the bare minimum, PC players will need to have Windows 10, a fourth-generation Intel processor or better, 12 GB of RAM, and a DirectX12-compatible graphics card such as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 480. Plus,Armored Core 6will require at least 60 GB of storage space, which is slightly more than the PS4 and PS5 versions. The recommended specs bump up the CPU requirements to an Intel Core i5 10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or better.
For ray-tracing to work in the garage area ofArmored Core 6, a graphics card from the RTX 20 series, Radeon RX 6000 series, or better will be required. Considering the fact thatgraphics cards like these can be bought at budget-friendly prices, the specs for playingArmored Core 6with ray-tracing enabled will not break the bank. For players that want to keep ray tracing turned off, a graphics card such as a GTX 1060, Radeon RX 590, or better will suffice for meeting the recommended specifications.
Bandai Namco stated that the listed PC specs forArmored Core 6may change in the future. Despite not being a Soulslike game by design,Armored Core 6looks to offer plenty of replay valuefor players looking for something new by FromSoftware to play soon.
