Summary
There are five regions inDiablo 4and numerous waypoints, sub-areas, strongholds, and dungeons - among other smaller notable locations like Lilith Shrines. Players are free to roam the game world, but some areas are better leftfor higher-level characters. This sprawling world, with its hundreds of locations to discover, can be daunting for beginning players.
This list details eight areas that players should prioritize visiting whenever possible (character level permitting). Some of the entries on this list are for single locations, like a dungeon or waypoint; other entries, though, cover recurring discoverable locations, like the Altars of Lilith.

8Bear Tribe Refuge Waypoint
An Important Early Waypoint Players Should Unlock As Soon As Possible
This should be the first waypoint beginner players try to unlock. The Bear Tribe Refuge Waypoint is located in the northeast portion of the Fractured Peaks. The area just to the southwest of the waypoint is an excellent area to farm for experience and loot. Players should unlock this waypoint to gain quick access to one of the better farming spots in the game.
To get to this waypoint, players can simply exit Kyovashad along the east road. Continue east over the bridge, and after reaching the town, head north and then right at the fork in the road. Stay on the most easterly road until reachingthe Sir Cromwell side questtrigger, then head due east. Continuing in a mostly eastern direction, the path will begin to aim slightly southeast. When the Serac Rapture marker pops up on the screen, the waypoint is only a little further north.

7Cathedral Of Light After Act 3
An Area Where Players Can Unlock A Mount
The Cathedral of Light is a central location in Kyovashad. It is notable for being next to the World Tier statue. After reaching the point where tier two can be survived, there is a dungeon that can be found in the cathedral. There is another reason this area is so important though - it is where players can begin the quest to unlock the mount feature.
After completing Act 3, players will be prompted to meet Donan in the Cathedral of Light. After this message, they should head to the cathedral as soon as possible to speak with Donan. Donan sends the player to speak with Oskar, who is the Stable Master in Kyovoshad. This will unlock the mount feature and give the playera starter horse. This unlock is for all of a player’s characters, and using a mount to explore the world is an incredible time-saver.

6Altars Of Lilith
A Great Way To Increase A Character’s Stats
The Altars of Lilith are part of the Renown system withinDiablo 4. This system allows players to complete specific tasks to earn Renown points. After collecting the required amount of points, the player earns a reward. Each Lilith statue discovered earns the player 10 Renown points.
These statues also grant a bonus for each statue recovered. This bonus will be a +2 to Strength, Willpower, Dexterity, or Intelligence; however, it can also provide one Paragon point or add a+5 to Obol capacity. When entering a new area, it pays to keep an eye open for these Lilith shrines.

5Backwater Waypoint
An Important Late-Game Waypoint That Provides Easy Access To Lucrative Farming Areas
The Act 4 region, Hawezar, has many great areas for farming experience and loot. One of the best waypoints for fast traveling to these farming areas is the Backwater waypoint. This important waypoint is situated in the southeastern portion of the region and, as the name suggests, is far removed from the other waypoints.
Getting to this waypoint is a long hike from the first waypoint the player unlocks in the region, Umir Plateau, which is in the western portion of the Hawezar region. One tactic for getting to this waypoint is to travel easterly along the coast. Another route would be to head east from the Umir Plateau, reach Blightmarsh, and then head southeast.

4Strongholds
Above Ground Dungeons That Are Part Of The Renown System
Strongholds form another part of the Renown system; however, these are a little easier to find and much harder to finish than the Altars of Lilith. Strongholds cover a decently sized portion of the map and are essentially open-air dungeons. Once finished, the Stronghold area changes to reflect the vanquishing of the enemy horde within. A village that was being used as a Stronghold by the enemy might also become repopulated with people.
Clearing Strongholds is a great source ofexperience and lootand is one of the better ways to advance in the Renown system. Each region and Act has a few Strongholds to discover and clear. As with the Altars of Lilith, these Strongholds should be cleared as soon as possible for the Renown rewards.

3Iron Hold
A Great Dungeon To Farm Experience And Loot
Among the most popular farming locations inDiablo 4is the Iron Hold dungeon. The two main reasons for its popularity are that it’s filled with swarms of enemies, andthe dungeon itselfis quite expansive. The journey through Iron Hold provides tons of experience and good opportunities for desirable loot drops.
This dungeon is located in the Ruins of the Rahat Keep area of the Hawezar region. There is a waypoint just to the south of the dungeon entrance - the Inner Court waypoint. The boss of the Iron Hold is named the Scourge of the Land, and it can be encountered after collecting the Bloodstones hidden in the dungeon and returning them to their pedestal; this has to be done one stone at a time.

2Blind Burrows
Another Dungeon That Provides A Lot Of Experience And Loot
Blind Burrows is another dungeon players will want to farm for experience and loot. This dungeon is a lot more sprawling than the Iron Hold. The objective here is to defeat the Infested Villagers scattered throughout the dungeon. These villagers are elite monsters and, as such, can dropsome decent loot.
The quickest way to reach this dungeon is to travel east from the Zarbinzet waypoint. This path will take the player through the Plains of Attrition and the Diseased Embankment. The dungeon entrance is a very noticeable cave opening illuminated by an ominous red light.

1Champion’s Demise
An Exploitable Dungeon Meant To BeCompleted Only Once
This is arguably the best farming location inDiablo 4. The Champion’s Demise dungeon is completely filled with enemies to vanquish. This sheer amount of creatures here allows the player to gain experience very quickly.
The catch with this dungeon is that it can only be completed once. This problem is easily solved by leaving the dungeon before defeating the boss and simply resetting it. The Champion’s Demise dungeon is located in the Untamed Scarps area of the Dry Steppes region. To reach it, players can travel southeast through the Valley of the Strayed to Desolation’s Reach.
