Summary

No Rest For The Wickedmay be in Early Access, but it’s already shaping up to be a promising action RPG. The game blendssoulslike mechanicswith the traditional action-RPG formula in an effort to stand out, resulting in an experience that’s both unique and challenging.

Throughout the game, players will findan abundance of loot, from miscellaneous items and ingredients to consumables that restore stamina or apply elemental effects to weapons. Some of these items should never be sold, but there is a variety that players can get away with selling for quick cash, especially in the early game. Players will need this cash to purchase useful items from vendors, as well as housing, which can be an expensive investment.

No Rest For The Wicked - Fallen Ember Item

It’s highly recommended that players make use of the merchants to sell their items, asNo Rest For The Wickedactively discourages hoarding with itspunishing limited inventory. Players will frequently find themselves with a full inventory, and those who don’t sell the less useful items will likely miss out on potential loot while exploring. This is especially so in the early game, as players won’t have a great deal of space to store excess items.

1Fallen Embers

An End-Game Item That Players Won’t Need For A While

Asan Early Access game,No Rest For The Wickedis relatively limited in content. Although there’s enough to keep players busy for a good few hours, the game’s main content isn’t finished yet. Thankfully, though,No Rest For The Wickedfeatures a small amount of end-game content in the form of the Cerim Crucible.

To access this end-game content, players need Fallen Embers. These relatively common random drops, however, are worth twenty-four coppers each. While not a great deal of cash, these consumables are mostly useless to players in the early game. While selling them may result in having to hunt a few down once players have reached the end-game, selling them can be a quick and easy way of piling up silver.

No Rest For The Wicked - Pine Wood

2Wood

A Sustainable Resource That Can Be Acquired Early

Players can acquire an axe inNo Rest For The Wickedextremely quickly, allowing them to chop down trees from the get-go. This is highly recommended, as these trees respawn over time with the game’s fog-of-war mechanic.

It’s not recommended that players sell their wood straight away, however, as they’ll need it to contribute to Maker Danos’construction projects in Sacrament. However, wood is so easy to come by that there’s almost no harm in selling it for extra cash.

No Rest For The Wicked - Copper Ore

3Ore

An Abundant Resource That Can Be Made More Valuable

Similarly to wood, ore is easily obtained from a very early point in the game. All players need to do is find a pickaxe, something that can be acquired as soon as Mariner’s Keep, and they can begin mining the various ore nodes littered across the map.

This makes ore a relatively common commodity. Like wood, ore should not be sold early on, as it is another resource that’s commonly required for Maker Danos' building projects. However, iron ore, for example, is worth twenty-four coppers. Players can increase this value by creating ingots using a furnace. It is worth noting, however, that ingots are used to upgrade weapons, and it’s not always efficient to sell ore. Despite this, ore is so commonly found that it’s one of the more consistent ways to make money.

No Rest For The Wicked - Molding Nith Gloves

4Armor

An Inventory-Filler That’s Often Redundant

Throughout their time inNo Rest For The Wicked, players will come across all manner of item drops, with armor being one of the most common item types players will find. Armor pieces are, for the most part, some of the most valuable items in the game. Even common armor can be valuable when sold in bulk, and players are likely to have an inventory full of it if they spend enough time out in the wilderness.

Looting chests, battling enemies, and generally keeping a peeled eye will often reward players with armor. BecauseNo Rest For The Wickedfeatures a classless system that encourages players to wield items that scale with their chosen statistics, not all of this armor will be useful. In fact, a great deal of it will be useless. Players should sell any and all armor they come across that doesn’t fit their build, unless it’s a particularly strong item that they intend to use with a different character through the community chest.

No Rest For The Wicked - Scimitar

5Weapons

High-Value Drops That Are Often Unfit For Certain Builds

Similarly to armor,No Rest Of The Wickedthrows an abundance of weapon drops at the player from the moment they land on the shores of Sacra. From daggers and axes to bows and claymores, there are a variety of weapons to find in the nooks and crannies ofNo Rest For The Wicked’sworld. However, despite there being an excess of weapon drops in the game, many of them are fairly useless.

The elements of random generation and the fact that players will often find themselves inundated with weapons they can’t use make them one of the best things to sell. Furthermore, many of these weapons are worth a fair amount of copper, or even silver, allowing players to make a large amount of cash fairly quickly.

No Rest For The Wickedfeatures a plethora of items that players can sell, and many of them are situational in their usefulness. There are plenty of high-value items that players may want to sell. For example, many of the items that can beused to upgrade weaponslater down the line are usually quite valuable, but some players may want to consider storing these for later. The listed items, however, can be found so consistently that selling them is relatively inconsequential (excluding the Fallen Embers).
