Customization hasn’t really been seen in any of Ryu Ga Gotoku’s games before, and if it did appear, it was always extremely restrictive and limited. Luckily though, the developers have grantedmuch more customizable optionsin the latestLike A Dragon Gaidengame, with there being plenty of weird and whacky options that can be equipped for Kiryu.
Players will be able to make some alterations to Kiryu’s appearance once they are introduced to the Boutique a few hours into the game. There’s no need to go out searching for it as it will appear as part of the main storyline, making it impossible to miss. More outfits and accessories will also be unlocked as the story progresses, so it’s always a good idea to return every now and again to see what’s in stock. With that being said, here are all the outfits and accessories that stand out from the rest for their designs, color scheme, and general aesthetic.
1Beanie
Makes Kiryu Look Much More Casual And Laid-Back
Kiryu’s been around for quite a while at this point, but despite being in his mid-50s by the time ofLike A Dragon Gaiden, he can still fit in with the kids by donning a classic beanie to cover his marvelous head of hair. It kind of suits the whole secret agent look that Kiryu has going on, and it even comes with a bright yellow option for anyone who wants to be as eye-catching as possible when walking down the streets of Osaka.
It might be a simple accessory, but putting a beanie on Kiryu is an easy way to make him look a little more casual rather than formal, and the three different color options also add just enough variety to play around with.
2Ryu Ga Gotoku Shirt
A Meta Way For Kiryu To Show Some Appreciation
The regular t-shirt featured in the game is completely blank and pretty bland overall, but if players click on it, they will have the option to add the Ryu Ga Gotoku development symbol onto the middle to help spruce it up a little bit. This isn’t just a tiny logo either, as it will almost fill up the entire shirt, and it’s a clever way for Kiryu to acknowledge the developers behind the newer set of games.
There are also a handful of color options that players can choose from, depending on how much they want the logo to stand out or not. This is definitely a much more laid-back look for Kiryu, but that certainly isn’t a bad thing considering that it gives him a break from his usual formal attire.
3Leopard Print Agent Suit

The Agent Suit that Kiryu starts the game with can be altered in quite a few different ways, but by far the most dazzling and vibrant design scheme for it is the leopard print. This feels like a suit that would be frequently seen during Kiryu’s ventures inYakuza 0during the 1980s, but while it might have died out in the fashion world, there’s no shame in bringing it back one final time.
Since changing the color of the Agent Suit will alter every part of the outfit, it also means Kiryu’s pants will be altered too, which is a nice added touch that makes this color and design template even more captivating.
4Hyottoko Mask
Can Change The Entire Mood Of A Cutscene, Making It Ideal For Subsequent Playthroughs
Hyottoko is a comical Japanese character who has been popular within the country’s culture for several centuries. He started as a mythical figure and was even seen as the God of Fire insome regions of Japan, but he has become more of a quirky symbol of good luck in modern times, with masks of his face being readily available in street markets across the country.
Usually, these masks aren’t quite as colorful or detailed as the one Kiryu can buy inLike A Dragon Gaiden, but this only helps to make it even more humorous, especially with the hair sticking out from the nose and the exaggerated facial expression. This is one of the most hilarious accessories in the game, to the point where it can completely ruin a sad or emotional scene, so saving it for a second playthrough may be for the best.
5Formal Attire
Kiryu Has Never Looked As Professional As He Does When Rocking This Attire
The Formal Attire might be just a little bit different from Kiryu’s regular suit, but the addition of a dickie bow and the buttons being done upinstantly makes Kiryu look much more professional. The suit is so fancy-looking that it makes it seem like Kiryu’s on his way to a prestigious dinner party or even a ball, but when you’re running around an area as luxurious as the Sotenbori District, you need to look your best.
There’s a near-endless amount of customization options for this too, such as being able to add a golden sheen to the suit or even designing it with a red polka dot color scheme. No matter which color they choose, players are going to be making a fashion statement everywhere they go when wearing the Formal Attire.
6Shirtless Blazer
The shirtless blazer is undoubtedly a reference to Kiryu’s dear friend, andoccasional arch-enemy, Majima, who is known for his over-the-top antics and wild fashion sense. What makes this even better is, among the plethora of color options, there’s one that replicates the light golden design that Majima rocks on his own blazer, making it a must-buy for any fans of the character.
Kiryu may not share the same chest tattoos as Majima, which helps the look stand out a little more, but there’s still no denying just how stylish and carefree he looks when throwing this large golden jacket on his back.
7Bear In Love Mask
One Of The Most Detailed And Vibrant Accessories In The Game
Kiryu might be pretty skillful at martial arts, but he’s never been afully-fledged lucha libre wrestler, though it would be difficult to imagine that when he’s wearing this Bear in Love Mask. The white and pink color scheme already makes the mask extremely captivating upon first glance, but it’s the giant bushy pink beard, along with the fluffy ears and lovehart that make it stand out.
This is an accessory that unlocks pretty early on in the game, so players will be able to get their hands on it extremely quickly, and it’s worth the full price considering just how incredibly detailed and vibrant it is.
8Leather Sport Coat
Almost An Exact Replica Of Takayuki Yagami’s Jacket
While the Sports Coat is pretty much an everyday blazer, there’s a leather option that can be picked as one of the patterns which helps to modernize the outfit and give it just that extra dose of style. This coat might look very familiar to fans of theJudgmentgames as this is actually whatTakayuki Yagamiwears in those games while on his detective missions.
It might not be an exact replica of Yagami’s beloved leather jacket, but it’s still just as cool and fashionable as his was. It also makes Kiryu look a lot more menacing, which is reminiscent of his early days in the Yakuza where he wouldn’t hesitate to beat up anyone who was causing him trouble.
9Noh Mask
Can Either Be Relaxing, Creepy, Or Hilarious Depending On The Situation
A Noh Mask is commonly used during Japanese stage performances to try and portray the age and gender of a character, so many older actors will use them to signify that they are playing as a youngster, for example. A lot of this comes from the actual facial expression, and when it comes to this mask, it makes Kiryu look a lot more relaxed than fans have ever seen him. It provides the perfect balance between creepiness and humor, as whileKiryu is often restricted to his signature scowl, this simple accessory makes him seem like a completely different character.
What helps this mask stand out is the fact that it doesn’t go too overboard with its design, so while some clothing options are all about getting a few laughs out of the player, this accessory can work differently depending on the scenario. There’s no doubt that it can be pretty funny to see it during a serious cutscene, but it can also make Kiryu seem a little more intimidating to any thugs who decide to pick a fight with him too.
