There have actually been a handful of DreamWorks racing games over the years, but none have astacked and star-studded roster of charactersquite likeDreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing. There’s a racer from pretty much every DreamWorks movie imaginable in this game, and while they all obviously have their own voice lines and personal quirks that they can put on a show during a race, they also each have very different stats that fit into certain playstyles.

The majority of the cast are actually on the slower side which allows them to handle their vehicles a little easier without having to worry about any harsh corners or bends, but there’s also a handful who are all about going as fast as humanly possible. For any players who are looking to rev up their engines to the max once they reach the track, these are the best characters to try out.

Boss Baby

9Theodore Templeton

Max Speed: 1.8

The Boss Baby himselfis more or less an all-rounder when it comes to his stats, though he doesn’t have much weight to him which does mean he can be tossed around by other bulky cars quite easily. Considering that he has pretty good speed and turbo power though, he still does have a moderate level of handling which allows him to navigate most tracks in the game quite easily.

His tiny stature does also mean he can slip by other racers without anyone even knowing he’s there, especially when there’s a lot of carnage going on during a race, so while he might not be the fastest character in the game, he still boasts a decent speed which makes him a very reliable racer.

Alex The Lion

8Alex

Max Speed: 2.0

While Alex is able to reach some high speeds, both normally and when using Turbo, he’s also no slouch in the other departments. He has especially good handling which is ideal considering how tricky it can usually be to swing around corners when reaching max speed, but this is rarely ever a problem when it comes to Alex.

His car is a little heavy which does admittedly harm the acceleration, but he’s a real force to be reckoned with once he gets going. Just like he was intheMadagascarmovies, Alex is also very talkative in this game which is either a bonus or an annoyance depending on who you ask.

Mr. Wolf

7Mr. Wolf

Mr. Wolf is actually just as fast as Alex, but the biggest difference between the two is the staggering amount of Charisma that Wolf has. Charisma increases the frequency of a racer getting a Troll Surprise which can help them take out their competition, or simply justbuff their own car.

This can end up making Mr. Wolf extremely fast since he’s already got a good base speed, but by far his biggest drawback is the handling which can prove to be a real problem, and some of the more drift-heavy trackslike Arctic Ocean. Still, when it comes to raw speed, Mr. Wolf has more than a few ways to blitz past his competition.

Hiccup

6Hiccup

Unfortunately, Hiccup does not ride his trusty dragon Toothless on the track in this game, but his small and mobile dragon-themed car is still just as fun to drive around in, especially thanks to his balanced-out stats. His handling may be a little lackluster, but Hiccup really doesn’t falter in any other area, and he has enough endless Charisma to help him earn that sweet victory.

His Turbo power also means he can easily glide around his opponent with ease by using his environment, and while his car is still very small and can be thrown around fairly easily, it also makes drifting an absolute breeze which really helps on tracks like Shrek’s Swamp which can be a little trickier to navigate.

Diane Foxington

5Diane Foxington

Diane has more or less the same stats as Hiccup, but she also has some of the highest Charisma in the entire game which automatically gives her a leg-up from the moment that green light shows up. She’s a very easy character to use and is a good starting point for anyone jumping into the game for the first time, and her base speed mixed with her turbo stat allow her to eclipse her fellow racers.

There really isn’t much bad to say about Diane as she really is excellent in nearly every stat, and besides being a little light and airy on the road, this is a small price to pay for her rapid speed andexuberant Charisma.

Shrek

4Shrek

Max Speed: 2.1

Thelovable ogre known as Shrekis another jack-of-all-trades who is pretty balanced overall, and while his vehicle is a little cumbersome, he’s still a lot faster than the majority of the roster. His moderate Charisma also means that he can easily pick up a few boosts during a race, and that’s not even mentioning his Turbo which can help give him a quick boost when his acceleration just isn’t doing the job.

Despite Shrek clearly being the most beginner-friendly racer in the game, he’s still more than capable of leaving the other characters in the dust when picking up some speed, making him overall a safe and very viable character to go with.

Po From Kung Fu Panda

3Po

Po, the legendary panda who earned the title of the Dragon Warrior, takes to the races inDreamworks All-Stars Kart Racingwith a pretty powerful set of stats. He actually has the same speed as Shrek, but he’s a bit better overall thanks to his extra Charisma, especially because of how much lighter he is.

This makes it far easier for Po to get back up to speed after hitting a curb or being spun-put from a projectile, something that happens constantly considering just how frantic and fast-paced the races are in this game. He’s a fantastic character, and undoubtedly one of the best racers in the entire game once players get to grips with the awkward turning on his car.

King Gristle

2King Gristle

Max Speed: 2.2

Gristle is actuallyquite a unique characteras since he’s so small, it would be easy to assume that he would be extremely light on his feet, but he’s actually packing a bit of extra weight which is just enough to keep him balanced at all times. When it comes to his speed though, Gristle can easily overtake the other racers, to the point where a lot of them will just prioritize taking him down since he can become such an annoyance.

His drifting also isn’t half-bad which allows him to keep control of his staggering speed, and all of this comes together to create one of the greatest characters in the entire game. It’s a good thing that his Turbo charge isn’t just a little higher otherwise he would undoubtedly be a broken character in-game.

Lord Farquaad

1Lord Farquuad

Max Speed: 2.3

Farquaad is by farthe fastest racer in the entire game, but he does sacrifice nearly all of his other stats to make this a reality. The truth is though, if other racers let Farquaad get too far ahead to the point where he can’t be hit with an item, it more or less means the race is over unless he makes a rookie mistake.

Getting this far ahead with him though is no easy task since his severe lack of Charisma can make it difficult to get any helpful buffs, so he does really rely on getting lucky and avoiding enemy attacks to get him in a winning position. With that being said though, it’s virtually impossible to catch up to him if he does manage to get into first place, making him the perfect character for any speed demons out there.
