Considering how longthe Xbox 360’s lifespanended up being, it means many games came out for the console that can still only be played on that particular system, or on odd occasions, through backwards compatibility. This is unfortunate since there is a plethora of excellent Xbox 360 titles that not everyone has had the chance to play and experience these games in all their glory, even though some of them contain some incredible villains.

Everyone has their favorite video game villains, but while the likes of Sephiroth and Bowser have been allowed to flourish due to being in so many games, not everyone is this lucky. In the case of these antagonists below, though they can come across as genuinely intimidating and fascinating in their personal stories, they don’t often get the credit they deserve, since they only ever appeared on a single console.

Skorge leaping into the air

Before taking a look at these Xbox 360 villains, it should be noted that this list will not consider games that have been remastered or remade for the Xbox Series S/X, so theHalogames, for example, won’t count as they are all included in theMaster Chief Collection.

Though Skorge is technically an underling ofthe Locust Queen, he still plays the role of a major antagonist for much ofGears of War 2’s story as he’s constantly thwarting Delta Squad’s plans and always trying to stop them in their tracks. Skorge doesn’t waste any time talking to his opponents, as he often prefers to jump right into the fray where he can swing his dual-chainsaw staff around without worrying about who he hits, no matter whether it’s friend or foe.

Richard Hughes thanking the protagonist for helping him win the election

His lightning-fast movements and combat expertise make him much harder to deal with than the average Locust, something Marcus and the crew quickly realize on the few occasions they come face to face with him. This all culminates in one of the most epic boss fights in the entire series where players must use their Lancer chainsaws to try and break down Skorge’s defenses before cutting him to pieces once and for all.

Richard Hughes is a devious and corrupt mayoral candidate who is willing to do anything and everything to seize power in the city of Stilwater. It’s not long before he starts meddling ingang businessand catches the attention of the Saints, who seem far from pleased about him taking over the area. At first, Richard seems to act fairly towards the Saints and even speaks about peace offerings, but it’s clear this shady politician is planning something much more sinister behind the scenes.

Gongora talking about the throne of the gods with the party members in the background

After constant back and forth, it’s eventually revealed Richard was using the Saints all along, convincing them to take out his political rivals so that he could be handed the election on a silver platter. It’s not until near the end that his plan is fully revealed to the player, and it puts into perspective how cold and calculated he is. Though he dies at the end of the game, Hughes would have a lasting impact on the world ofSaints Rowgoing forward, especially with the rise of the Ultor Corporation.

Gongora doesn’t have a particular mindset about how the world should be or an ideology that drives his evil actions. Instead, he simply wants to use his powerful magic to bend the world to his will by destroying the Tower of Mirrors. What makes Gongora come across as such an intimidating villain is how merciless he is, especially towards those who get in the way of his plans. Thirty years before the events ofLost Odysseyeven begin, Gongora would seal off the memories of the other immortals, all so that they wouldn’t become an enemy of his in the future.

Schuenzeit saying that he’s glad the player has made their way to him

He even goes as far as to manipulate others to see him as a hero so that he can create his own army of loyal pawns, such as how he convinces Roxian to attackthe prince of Uhra, all for his selfish gain. He’s a truly despicable antagonist who almost feels unstoppable once he begins gaining power and influence throughout the story, which is why it feels all so good to finally beat him at the very end.

4Schuenzeit Baron (MagnaCarta 2)

Despite Being So Merciless And Sadistic, Schuenzeit Is Still Effortlessly Charismatic And Cool

Schuenzeit is one ofthe most ruthless and unforgiving politicians ever seen in a video game. Not only did he willingly murder Queen Ibrin of Lanzheim in cold blood just to assume the throne, but when he did come into power, he then sentenced anyone who opposed him to death, ensuring he had an unopposed chokehold over the country. What’s fascinating about Schuenzeit is that, even though he’s more than capable of acting like the most horrific person on earth, he’s often shown to be very calm and casual in the way he acts, which only helps to make him seem even more sinister.

As the leader of the Northern Forces, he also possesses an incredible amount of power, especially when he decides to let his loyal test subjects, the Sentinels, run rampant and cause as much chaos as they would like. He’s a terrifying villain who fans love to hate, and it’s a shame he only appears in a single game, as his character is a big highlight of the overall story.

Loki with a devious grin on his face

Inspired by the mythological figure of the same name, Loki inToo Humanis a man with a strong superiority complex who always believed he was destined for more when compared to the other members of the Aesir. After he was discovered mingling with Fenrir and taking the life of another Aesir, Loki was thrown into prison by his fellow “comrades,” but it turns out he had already spread his influence far enough to create his own group of loyal followers dubbed the Sons of Loki, who successfully broke him out.

Because Loki is a former Aesir who has also been enhanced through the use of Giant Technology, it means he’s a true force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, making him a formidable foe both in and outside of combat. As players try to protect humanity from being wiped out by Loki and his army of followers, he will constantly mock the player and try to downplay their efforts, which perfectly suits his snarky attitude and the condescending persona that he puts up for most of the game.
