In the HeightsandTransformers: Rise of the BeastsstarAnthony Ramos joined theIronheartcastback in February, and he is rumored to play the main antagonist. Speaking toExtraat the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Ramos confirmed thatBlack PantherandBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverdirector Coogler will be attached the series in some way. “It’s incredible people, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler and just, like, a dope squad… you know, Dominique Thorne… and I just feel blessed and grateful,” Ramos said of the “amazing project.”
“I’m so excited… I used to be in the gym like, ‘C’mon, Marvel, call… c’mon, Marvel, call. It’s still unclear what type of role Coogler will have on the series, as it could be anything from just a consultant to him actually producing or even stepping behind the camera. Still, it’s exciting either way to have a talent like him involved with this story, and it’s no surprise since Thorne’s character will appear intheBlack Panthersequel.
It was around this time last year when Coogler’s Proximity Media production company signed a five-year executive television deal with Disney, where he will be developing new television series’ for the studio, including aWakanda spinoff seriesand other shows for Disney Plus. In his statement, Coogler teased his partnership with Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso and how he has been in the mix on some MCU projects that he is very much looking forward to.
UntilIronheartarrives on Disney Plus, the focus for Coogler has been onBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, the highly-anticipated sequel that seeks to honor the late Chadwick Boseman. The film will see Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Winston Duke’s M’Baku play more prominent roles, and Feige also confirmed the story will explore more of Wakanda’s rich history and ancestors. The film will also reportedlyintroduce Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, the Atlantean son of a mortal sea captain and an Atlantean princess.
