Summary
Boruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of theBorutoseries and a beloved character to the fans. Although not everyone’s favorite from the get-go, Boruto has had to work incredibly hard to earn the respect of the fans and currently, he is believed to be one of the strongest ninjas, if not the strongest, in the entire world.
Boruto, especially after the timeskip, appears to be tremendously overpowered. He has gained some amazing abilities over the years and, at the same time, has reached levels where he can even toy with Otsutsuki-level threats. The source of Boruto’s powers remains unknown at this point, however, the recentBorutochapters seem to suggest that there might be a connection between Boruto Uzumaki and one of the Three Sage Institutions in the world ofNaruto. This means Boruto could be a potential user of Sage Mode.
Boruto Strength After The Timeskip
Boruto Uzumaki left Konoha for 3 years after Omnipotence took effect. Essentially, Boruto’s life was swapped with that of Kawaki and the phenomenon affected nearly everyone in the entire world, who now believed that Boruto was, in fact, an orphan taken in by Naruto and Hinata and that Kawaki was the true born child of the Uzumaki Family. The world also started believing that Boruto was the one responsible for killing the 7th Hokage, while in truth he was incapacitated and sealed away bynone other than Kawaki himself.
To set things right and gain enough power to change things, Boruto left the village to get stronger and he was accompanied by Sasuke. 3 years have passed since then and Boruto has matured quite a lot, growing into a very fine Shinobi. In the new manga,Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, fans saw Boruto Uzumaki return to Konoha for the first time in 3 years. As soon as he returned, it was clear to see that he had reached unprecedented levels of power. Boruto fought against Code in what appeared to be a very short battle, however, one that gave fans a glimpse of his level of power. Boruto completely outclassed him, stepping on his face from the get-go and making it known that he could easily defeat him if he wanted to.
Boruto’s Rasengan Uzuhiko
The fight between Boruto and Codewas certainly a very interesting one. Right from the get-go, it was clear that Boruto was beaming with confidence. He mentioned that killing Code would not even be difficult for him. In fact, Boruto fully believed that Code wasn’t even a threat and wanted him to save his own life by cooperating with him. Unfortunately, Code did not cooperate and this only meant that these two characters would then end up against each other in an elaborate fight. While Code was fully confident of taking on Boruto and winning against him, he was utterly shocked when he realized that Boruto had progressed by leaps and bounds.
To defeat Code, Boruto utilized a new Jutsu, called Rasengan Uzuhiko. This technique was somewhat hard for fans to grasp at first. Essentially, this Rasengan sees Boruto cover his entire body in spiraling chakra instead of gathering it in the palm of his hands as a regular Rasengan does. Then, Boruto makes contact with his enemies and transfers the spiraling chakra to their bodies. Essentially, this chakra is not his own but that of the planet. Boruto is making use of natural energy and given that this rotating chakra comes from the planet itself, it doesn’t stop until the entire planet comes to a standstill.
This is a semi-permanent jutsu, given that can only be turned off by Boruto Uzumaki himself, the only other option being the planet somehow either being stopped or destroyed. This technique is exceptionally powerful as it completely disorients the user and prevents them from even doing something as simple as standing. Clearly, natural energy is being utilized in this technique, even if it is not senjutsu.
Boruto’s Connection To Toads
Towards the end ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 3,fans saw Boruto Uzumaki sharing a connection with the toads of Mount Myoboku. Fans are very well aware of the toads of Mount Myoboku and have seen them on countless occasions in the originalNarutoseries.The likes of Naruto Uzumaki, Minato, and even Jiraiya were users of these powerful toads. Now, it appears that Boruto Uzumaki has also joined the list and become one of the toad users of Mount Myoboku. It is known that Mount Myoboku is also one of the Three Sages Institutions to exist in theNarutoworld.
There, those who want to make use of natural energy and learn Sage Mode train incredibly hard. In fact, the vast majority of those who have toad summons & a contract at Mount Myoboku are users of Sage Mode as well. Now, it has been confirmed that Boruto went to this place during the 3-year timeskip and that only means that he likely strengthened himself further. Boruto Uzumaki has most likely learned the power of Sage Mode and it is only a matter of time before he brings it out. This is an incredible power that would boost his incredible strength even further and keep him from relying on the powers of the Otsutsuki too much.
Does Boruto Have Sage Mode?
Whether Boruto Uzumaki has Sage Mode or not depends heavily on what path the character ended up choosing during the timeskip. The fact is that Boruto Uzumaki has a connection to Mount Myoboku, and that’s for sure. What’s also known is that most characters who ended up going to Mount Myoboku learned Sage Mode. Jiraiya, Naruto, and Minato, are all the users of powerful Sage Mode. Kashin Koji, who is also affiliated with the Toads of Mount Myoboku, is also a user of Sage Mode. There is nothing to doubt the fact that Boruto can use Sage Mode, given that he’s affiliated with this place as well.
Of course, one would wonder as to how Sage Mode would benefit Boruto Uzumaki. The fact is that natural energy is always beneficial for anyone. Fighting against Tailed Beasts,such as the 10 Tailsbecomes much easier when one is a user of natural energy. At the same time, fans also saw Boruto Uzumaki use techniques such as Rasengan Uzuhiko recently and this amazing ability also makes use of natural energy. Perhaps, the understanding of Sage Mode and natural chakra was necessary for such a technique to be crafted.
