Bungie gave the tough news aboutthe delay ofBeyond LighttoDestiny 2players today. Its latest article goes over an update to the content calendar as well as other hints about when fans can expect certain features.

The studio released its weekly blog post, This Week at Bungie, earlier than usual this week to accompany the announcement ofBeyond Light’s new launch date, November 10. A similar delay had also happened last year withDestiny 2: Shadowkeep, however, it was less severe.

Perhaps the biggest effect this delayed launch has on the game is that it extends the current season substantially.Season of Arrivalswill be the longestDestiny 2season at 154 days, tied with Season 2 (Curse of Osiris).

The article states thatMoments of Triumph 2020has been prolonged from September 22 to November 10. This should help ease the stress surrounding some of the harder triumphs. Solstice of Heroes remains unchanged, still taking place between August 11 and September 8.

In the gap between Solstice of Heroes and Beyond Light will be Festival of the Lost, starting on October 6 and ending on November 3. It will feature new masks, new triumphs, and “mummified” rewards. This could be teasing a new Halloween-themed visual style for the event’s gameplay rewards.

The removal of certain activities and theeffects of gear sunsettinghave also been shifted to the new expansion launch date. This will give players a bit more time to enjoy the destinations and their related activities before they inevitably get moved into the Destiny Content Vault, as well as their older weapons in endgame play before those get sunset.

Bungie plans to make the wait a bit more exciting by injecting the playlists with more activity modifiers including, but not limited to, increased Valor, increased Infamy, and increased [REDACTED] (whatever that means). Moreover, additional Iron Banner events will take place this fall leading up toBeyond Light. It aims to reveal more surprises moving forward.

Grandmaster Nightfalls, which have been updated to be more rewarding, will launch on July 21 at 10 AM PT forSeason of Arrivals. TheSeeker of Brilliance perkwhich was disabled earlier this week, will be hotfixed early in August. The exact date will be shared at a later time. Bungie closes out by saying that the teams are now to ready to start unveiling more details about the upcoming expansion.

If anything, this delay is a good opportunity to tackle some of the more time-consuming pursuits, such as Forging the Broadsword, which awards the titular Redrix’s Broadsword. Part of this quest requires the player to reset their Valor rank 5 times within a single season. Another example isthe masterworked Worldline Zero, which, by design, requires five weeks to complete.

Destiny 2: Beyond Lightlaunches on November 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
