Activision has pulled the curtain back on theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Zombies mode, giving fans the rundown on what they can expect when the game goes live on November 10.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3will be the first game in theModern Warfaresub-series to feature Zombies. Instead of a traditional round-based Zombies experience, though,Modern Warfare 3Zombies is going in a different direction.
While the vast majority ofCall of DutyZombies experiences have been round-based affairs,Modern Warfare 3Zombies is instead going to be open world.Modern Warfare 3will be utilizing thenewWarzonemapand letting players team up with other squads online to survive the undead hordes, with extraction shooter elements sprinkled in. This sounds like a pretty big risk forCall of DutyZombies, and it remains to be seen if it pays off.
But whileModern Warfare 3Zombies is making some drastic changes to the formula, it’s also retaining many elements that fans love from previous installments. To that end,Perk-a-Colais back inModern Warfare 3Zombies. Activision has confirmed that Deadshot Daiquiri, Death Perception, Elemental Pop, Jugger-Nog, PHD Flopper, Quick Revive, Speed Cola, Stamin-Up, and Tombstone Soda will all be featured in theMW3Zombies mode. They all function as Zombies fans will expect.

Activision also revealed some of the Ammo Mods that will be available inModern Warfare 3Zombies, though stopped short of providing an explanation as to what they all do. However, the names make them all fairly self-explanatory. At launch,Modern Warfare 3players can look forward to the Brain Rot, Cryo Freeze, Dead Wire, Napalm Burst, and Shatter Blast Ammo mods.

Activision stopped short of providing a detailed explanation about theWonder Weapons inModern Warfare 3Zombies, but teased three of them with a set of six images. It seems one of them is called Blast-O-Matic, seemingly unrelated to the pre-existing weapon blueprint fromBlack Ops Cold War. It looks similar to the Ray Gun, but it remains to be seen exactly how it functions. Activision did say that getting the Wonder Weapons inModern Warfare 3Zombies requires players to find special Schematics and then craft the weapons.Call of Dutyfans will have to jump into the game’s open world Zombies experience at launch to learn more about the Wonder Weapons and what they bring to the table.
