Activision has sent out a survey toCall of Dutyfans gauging their interest in the return of legacy maps forCall of Duty: Warzone 2.Call of Duty: Warzone 2launched late last year with the brand-new Al Mazrah map. WhileWarzone 2has certainly not been without its issues, the consensus seems to be that Al Mazrah is a significant step up from Caldera, but it falls short of Verdansk’s greatness.Soon,Call of Duty: Warzone 2players will have a new map to battle it out on. Specific details are coming at some point next week, but it’s already been announced thatCall of Duty: Warzone 2is getting a small map come Season 2’s launch on February 15. Thenew small-scale map forWarzone 2is expected to be similar in size to Rebirth Island, but again, official details on that front are unavailable at the time of this writing.RELATED:Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Making Huge Change to 3-Plate Armor Vests and BackpacksIt seems there’s a possibility that the new small map inWarzone 2is just the start of new maps coming to the battle royale. A new Activision survey has askedCall of Dutyfans to rank their top 3 choices for a newWarzonemap, with legacy maps mentioned as possibilities. Those surveyed could choose from a brand-new map, the Verdansk ‘84 map, the Caldera map, the original Verdansk map, or theBlackout map fromCall of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Based on these choices, it seems safe to say that manyCall of Dutyfans would be most interested in the original Verdansk map or the Blackout map making a comeback inCall of Duty: Warzone 2. Those two maps seem to be the most popular battle royale maps inCall of Duty, with Verdansk ‘84 simply being a variant of the original map and theCaldera mapproving to be generally unpopular with theCall of Dutycommunity. Some may prefer to see a completely new map, but then there’s the risk that the map won’t live up to expectations.

Now, this is not confirmation that any of these maps are actually coming toCall of Duty: Warzone 2. It’s entirely possible thatCall of Duty: Warzone 2won’t add any new maps at all, and it will instead be satisfied with tweakingAl Mazrah. However, this does show that Activision is at least considering the possibility of bringing some of its older maps toCall of Duty: Warzone 2, which may be enough to excite fans.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2is out now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
