Controlwas one of 2019’s most critically-acclaimed games, and so it stands to reason that fans are excited for its first big story expansion. Unfortunately for Xbox fans, the firstControlDLC will be a timed-exclusive on PC and PS4, with Xbox One users having to wait months before getting their hands on it.

This has been confirmed by Remedy Entertainment.Control’s first big DLC expansion,The Foundation, will launch on PC and PS4 on March 26, but Xbox One users have to wait until June 25 to play it. This is a whopping four months of timed-exclusivity for PC and PS4, and may upset someControlfans on Xbox One. After all,Controlis very much a story-driven experience, and having to wait so long to play the DLC means that there’s a much greater chance plot details will be spoiled for Xbox One players.

While the firstControlDLC is timed-exclusive for PC and PS4, it remains to be seen if the second expansion, currently titled AWE, will also be exclusive. Remedy has only said that AWE will launch forControlin late summer. Those interested in either DLC will either need the Digital Deluxe version ofControlor be willing to pay $14.99 each.

This isn’t the first timeControlhas been part of a timed-exclusivity controversy.Epic Games paid big money forControlto be exclusive to the Epic Games Store, and that caused quite an uproar with Steam users last year.

In the meantime, those who will get to play theControlFoundation DLC on March 26 may want to know what it’s about. According to Remedy Entertainment, the expansion will take protagonist Jesse into the “bedrock” ofthe Oldest House, where a “mysterious structure” called the Monolith has been damaged. Jesse has to figure out a way to fix the damaged Monolith, as it’s leaking Astral Plane into the Oldest House, and threatens to consume the entire building.

The Foundation DLC forControlis likely to feature a followup on Helen Marshall, who disappeared during the events of the base game to investigate something in The Foundation. Fans will just have to try out theControlDLCwhen it’s available on their platform of choice to find out more.
