Much to the delight of long-time fans, theCrash Bandicootseries has seen a full revival just in the past few years. After an almost decade-long drought between mainline titles, Sony and developers Vicarious Visions, Toys for Bob, and Iron Galaxy revivedCrash Bandicootwith a collection of remasters of the first 3Crashgames for the PS4 in 2017. Since then,Crash Team Racinghas also seen its own remaster in 2019, and a brand new entry in theCrash Bandicootseries,Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, was recently released in September of 2020.
Fans have made it clear that they hope Crash is here to stay, and now, it seems that Activision is utterly intent on keeping theCrash Bandicootseries alive and kicking. Back in July of 2020,Candy Crush Sagadeveloper King announcedCrash Bandicoot: On the Run!for mobile devices. Given that the successful mobile game developer wasacquired by Activision Blizzard back in 2016,and that Activision has been a long-time publisher for theCrashseries, King seems like a perfect fit to create a newCrash Bandicootmobile game, but just what is it exactly?
