When Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed the Cybertruck, the internet reacted in several different ways. Some loved it, while others hated it. Some createdhilarious Cybertruck memes, and others seized the opportunity to compare the Cybertruck to Cyberpunk aesthetics. However, this wasn’t just a simple vanity comparison, as evenCyberpunk 2077’s official Twitter page got in on the fun.
In response to an Elon Musk tweet about said vehicle,Cyberpunk 2077replied stating that the two had a deal, to which Elon Musk reponded that he would “see [them] in 2077.” There’s some clear implications here, with many fans unsure of how to react. Accepting it at face value could simply mean thatCyberpunk 2077decided to poke some fun atElon Musk’s Cybertruck, not unlikeWarframe, and he jokingly fired back. On the other hand, it could be a serious teases that there was some type of deal where Musk’s Cybertruck would appear in-game.

Before moving forward, it’s worth mentioning that this is not something that’s actually impossible. First, Elon Musk has a gaming background, having been upfront about his experience with it in the past. Secondly, there’s aBorderlands 3Flamethrower inspired by Musk, and finally, putting the Cybertruck inCyberpunk 2077simply sounds like something Musk and CD Projekt Red would cook up.
If this is the case, it’s a nice crossover promotion of bothCyberpunk 2077and Tesla’s Cybertruck, especially given how fitting it is.Vehicles inCyberpunk 2077can be called to the player, in a manner similar to Roach in theWitcherfranchise, to give off a futuristic vibe. This is not altogether too unfamiliar with the Cybertruck, which while a competitively priced pick up truck, also has a “self-driving option.”
Considering thatCyberpunk 2077is not set to release until July 01, 2025, there may not be confirmation on this for some time. As it stands, it could be a joke or it could be a serious tease; CD Projekt Red would seemingly say something official about this before release, meaning that something could come sooner than expected. Either way,Cyberpunk 2077is entering the final stages of development, so those excited for it may learn something new about the game in the coming months.
Cyberpunk 2077will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Jul 09, 2025.
