A datamine suggests that Arkane Studio’s upcoming co-op FPSRedfallcould be getting a beta, though there’s no indication of when that could be if it is true.Arkane is known forDeathloopand theDishonoredseries, as well as the reboot ofPrey, with the developer’s previous releases typically being well received, with praise often going towards their non-linear world exploration. Its inbound shooter seems to be a slight departure from the usual stealth antics the studio has become synonymous with, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t excited.
A newtrailer forRedfallbegan doing the rounds recently, teasing some more of the title. In the game, players will team up with others to take on a horde of vampires at nighttime. Set in the titular town of Redfall, it sounds like the approaching release is going more for thatLeft 4 DeadorBack 4 Bloodvibe, only with bloodsuckers instead of brain-eaters. While there’s no official release date yet, there’s a chance something may be on the horizon for fans.

A Reddit user going by DeoGame has shared a link that reveals the possibility thatRedfallmay be getting a beta. This rumor has been brought to the fore thanks to a datamine of the Bethesda EULA, or end-user license agreement. However, while there’s a lot of information about signing up for a beta, it doesn’t explicitly mention the game anywhere, so it’s best to be hesitant over the details. Having said that, The Game Awards are not far away, taking place on December 8, so it’s possible Arkane may announce something then.
As mentioned above, it’s not known when the game will actually be releasing.Microsoft saysRedfallwill be coming beforeStarfield, both of which are being published by Bethesda. At the moment, these two games are expected to launch sometime in 2023, possibly within the first half. But at the time of writing, no party has given any further official details.
It was unfortunate thatBethesda had to delay bothStarfieldandRedfallearlier this year. They were due out sometime in 2022, but a message from the studio said it wanted to hold the games back to give them extra polish. Hopefully the longer wait will be worth it. The trailers forRedfallare definitely whetting a lot of appetites, and while it’s something a little different toDishonoredandPrey, the game is still shaping up to be an exciting cooperative vampire slaying title.
