Many fans have recently been able to playDead by Daylight’s newest DLC chapter: “Silent Hill” with its recent release. This DLC includes characters from Konami’s Silent Hill series including Cheryl Mason as a survivor and Pyramid Head as a killer.
What someDead by Daylightplayers may not know is that a piece from another famous Konami series makes a cameo appearance in an Easter Egg. This would be Vic Viper, the player spaceship fromGradius, which makes an appearance as an unlockable charm for both killers and survivors alike.

to get this special piece of game history as a charm, players need to utilizethe famous Konami code. Here’s how to do it.
For those who aren’t aware, the Konami Code is a famous cheat code that has made appearances in many Konami games since the 80’s. Because this code appeared in so many Konami games, it became known as the Konami Code. Thefirst game to have the Konami CodewasGradius, which is why that is the charm unlocked when the code is inputted inDead by Daylight.
Traditionally, the code is Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, and Start in that order. However,game controllers have changedover the years, and withDead by Daylight, inputting the code is a little different.
Before attempting the code there are two things to note. The first thing is that the"Silent Hill" DLC Chapterneeds to be purchased and installed for this to work. The second thing is that as of Jul 02, 2025, this Easter Egg doesn’t seem to work on console versions ofDead by Daylight. For now, these are the PC instructions on inputting the Konami Code.
Players first need to be on the main menu ofDead by Daylight. This is where players can select which mode they want to play, not the title screen. While on this screen, players need to enter in order:
to enter the code, players need to do their inputs very quickly. There is no penalty for failure and they can try to input the code as many times as they want. Players will know if they’ve succeeded if they suddenly hear music fromGradiusplay. They can then check their charms to see the Vic Viper charm in their possession. This charm can be used by bothkillers and survivorsto show off their game history knowledge.
