One of the highest-rated new game releases of 2021 wasDeathloopfrom Arkane Studios and Bethesda.Deathloopearned high marks from critics, with praise for its action-packed FPS gameplay and clever multiplayer mechanics. Thanks to a deal between Bethesda and PlayStation that existed before the Microsoft acquisition,Deathloophas remained a PlayStation 5 exclusive game, but that could be changing in the very near future.
We’ve known for quite some time that theDeathloopPS5 exclusivity is running outon September 14. At that point, it’s possible for Microsoft to finally release an Xbox Series X version of the game. No such plans have been announced at the time of this writing, but it would make sense for Microsoft to release an Xbox Series X version ofDeathloopas soon as it possibly can. And sinceDeathloopis a first-party Xbox game, it would almost certainly be a day one Xbox Game Pass game whenever it does release.

Again, it must be stressed that this has not actually been announced at this time, and it’s entirely possible fans will have to wait until later in the year to playDeathloopon Xbox. However, Microsoft would be well within its right toreleaseDeathloopfor Xbox Game Passthis month. But while it remains to be seen ifDeathloopis coming to Xbox Series X and Game Pass this month, we do know that it’s going to be featured on PlayStation Plus.
Deathloop’s multiplayer component has players invading the games of others, almost likeDark Souls, with the goal of ruining other players' runs.DeathloopPvP multiplayercan be a blast, but it requires a decent number of other people playing online to be truly worthwhile. MakingDeathloopavailable to play through services like PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass would give millions of people instant access toDeathloopand its multiplayer, so it could only mean good things for the PvP part of the experience.
We already know thatDeathloopis coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium on September 20, but it remains to be seen if the game is going to come to Xbox Game Pass this month as well. Microsoft has not announced all thenew Xbox Game Pass games for September 2022just yet, but more information should come to light sooner rather than later.
