Season of the Worth has easily beenDestiny 2’smost controversial season yet, filled with low points which have seemingly broken a number of community members. While forums, boards, and social media sites have filled with complaints and feedback, Bungie has attempted to become more transparent with how it plans to course correct the game over the next few seasons. However, this past week has hit a major low point with a quest centered on the classicDestiny 1shotgun, Felwinter’s Lie.
Upon releasing last week, theDestiny 2quest step called The Lie tasked players with clearing Seraph Tower public events as a community, a task which proved to be lackluster and difficult, forcing Bungie make make adjustments so the quest could be finished before the season ended. Following the next couple of steps, players hit another major snag as the quest became bugged by sending players to the wrong part of the Moon, unable to progress the quest any further.

Hope was restored earlier this week as Bungie announced a new maintenance period forDestiny 2on May 19. However, Bungie quickly clarified that the hot fix isn’t related to The Lie and was planned prior to this issue cropping up.
Thankfully, in a separate Tweet, Bungie also made it clear that the team has identified theissue affecting The Tyrant portionof the Felwinter’s Lie quest. The team continues to work towards a resolution, though the studio isn’t ready to share details or provide a possible time frame for release. For most players actively participating in this quest, they’re hoping sooner rather than later.
As rough as this quest has been, it’s become part of a disturbing trend over the past two seasons inside ofDestiny 2. Numerous exotic items like Felwinter’s Helm, Telesto, and Wormgod’s Caress have gotten disabled, some multiple times, due to bugs or glitches. Players have even been able to exploit found glitches in game to possible reveal new details before Bungie intended them to be found, includinga very curious one related to the Towerand what could happen at the end of the season. While Bungie has plenty of plans to improve the mechanics and gameplay ofDestiny 2, many players are starting to wonder if these bugs are going to be a continued presence going forward.
