ADestiny 2player has completed the Root of Nightmares raid launched with the Lightfall DLC solo, without dying. This is a commendable feat consideringDestiny 2raids usually require full Fireteamsto coordinate correctly to complete every encounter, which is why this achievement is even more admirable.
The Root of Nightmares raid was arguably deemed one of the easiestDestiny 2raids by the players considering team Hard in the Paint finished it in 2 hours and 24 minutes on Day 1 in Contest Mode. Some players also finished the raid flawlessly in Contest Mode, andmore than 100,000Destiny 2players completed it on Day 1, which was a first in the game’shistory. This proved that it was only a matter of time before someone figured out a way to complete the whole raid solo without dying, and it finally happened.

Destiny 2player Xemo is the one to claim this achievement, finishing the run in just 56 minutes and 55 seconds, according to their raid report. They finished the whole raid while using Solar Warlock, which was the ideal choice considering the survivability Well of Radiance provides. For the first encounter, they used the Sunbracers Warlock build which gives players ad clear ability, paired with an Eager Edge sword to enhance mobility. After breezing past the first encounter, they used theinfamousDestiny 2Well Skating method to jump across platforms, which made it an easy task.
After moving past the jumping puzzle with ease, they reached the Macrocosm encounter. ADestiny 2streamer completed this encounter solo, without dying, less than two weeks ago, which cemented the belief in the community that someone will finish the full raid solo flawlessly. While the Well of Radiance build stayed intact, they used several different loadouts during the DPS phase, that included a bunch of different weapons to maximize damage output. This encounter took them the longest to finish, and then only Nezarec stood between them and eternal glory.
Xemo actually got to Nezarec without dying before this run as well, but an unfortunate rocket eruption ruined their first attempt. Being careful not to make the same mistake, they attempted the encounter again by using double Special ammo weapons with a rocket launcher for DPS, and switched to the Merciless Fusion Rifle during the last stand, which was just what they needed. PopularDestiny 2streamer evanf1997 had announced a bounty of $1000 for anyone who finished the raid solo, without dying, and Xemo received the prize for their achievement. This is now the third raid after Crota’s End and Wrath of the Machine to be completed solo, flawlessly, and it’ll be interesting to see how players step it up from here.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
