Destiny 2remains one of the most played games on Steam at the moment, and it has been enjoying quite a bit of success over the past year, likely thanks to a more compelling narrative with its Seasons and the return of Vault of Glass and Vex Mythoclast. Every new storyline leads the way to the events of theWitch Queenexpansion that is going to drop on February 22 of next year, marking the beginning of Year 5 ofDestiny 2. Being a live-service shooter,Destiny 2is constantly introducing new stuff to provide players with more content, and Bungie will do so yet again with the30th Anniversary Packthis December.
What’s interesting aboutDestiny 2is that it features several different endgame modes for all players, from Trials of Osiris for PvP to Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes for PvE. However, one of the game’s highlights remains its Raids, which are often very large activities with plenty of exclusive mechanics, encounters, and loot. They also frequently make for great group experiences and the best memories in the whole game, especially on first clears.

Today, content creator and Twitch streamer Teawrex shared an interview with the Game Director forDestiny 2, Joe Blackburn, who spoke about Raids and how he was working on them in the past and supervising them now with the new position. Blackburn describedRaids as one ofDestiny 2’s biggest secrets, and how the mystery manages to get players excited for the new content every time. The reason is simple, and it resides in the fact that there are no guides or walkthroughs of new Raids when they release because none of that goes live on a public beta server.
This is true with campaigns as well, andDestiny 2’sThe Witch Queenwill have many players venture through Savathun’s Throne World blindly, experiencing a mix of dread and excitement. Of course, Blackburn says, this also means that each new expansion or DLC will likely come with a bunch of bugs and glitches, but that’s just the way it is in the industry.
Overall, it doesn’t take away from the experience of new Raids, discovering their secrets, mastering their encounters, and eventually getting their ultimate reward in the form of powerful Exotics. Games as complex and big asDestiny 2will always have bugs, it’s part of the development cycle, and the perfect example comes fromTelesto’s rework and how it couldn’t stop a new bug from breaking the game.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
