Bungie has made it effectively impossible to continue abusingDestiny 2’s weekly dungeon rotator, thus eliminating the ongoing Artifice armor bonanza which allowed players to effortlessly farm high-end gear. Since it can be quite challenging for players to get their hands on properly rolled armor pieces while playing regular content, mechanics that make the process easier and more streamlined are highly sought after, which can sometimes force the developer’s hand.Efficiency is an important aspect of farming endgame content inDestiny 2, and whenever there’s a better way of doing things to prepare for the game’s most difficult content, players will jump at the opportunity to use it. The latest example of this being the case, however, seems to have been a bit excessive for Bungie’s taste.RELATED:Some Destiny 2 Players Have Already Flawlessly Cleared the Root of Nightmares RaidSpecifically,Destiny 2players could farm the Duality dungeonfor easy and fast Artifice armor drops all week long, due to the fact that it came up as the featured piece of weekly content. It didn’t take long for the community to figure out that it was possible to bug out the boss in the first encounter, Gahlran, and then quickly reset everything to try it all over again. Setting up such a fast and streamlined Artifice farming method was apparently too much for Bungie’s taste, however, and the developer has now disabled the activity rejoin checkpoint to slow things down.

Despite its buggy nature,Destiny 2’s Duality dungeonhas always been a popular spot for armor farming. It’s a relatively simple and easy dungeon that doesn’t take long to complete with a competent fireteam. Even now that Bungie has disabled the dungeon checkpoint everyone was gunning for, it’s still not too big of a time investment for even solo players to farm Artifice armor pieces, highlighting the dungeon’s value.

While Artifice armor has always been a useful piece of kit, the new batch of tweaks deployed as part ofDestiny 2: Lightfall’s buildcrafting changesmade it even more useful than it was before. Players can now use the extra Artifice slot attached to these armor pieces to upgrade specific stats further than would otherwise be possible. This can massively improve a character’s survivability and ability uptime, for example.

Every little stat improvement matters right now because the difficulty bump has made certain activities far more challenging without the in-depth build optimization that the Artifice armor provides. Things have gotten so serious that theDestiny 2community wants a primary weapon buffacross the board, as it’s become virtually impossible to run regular weapons at the highest difficulties.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
