Summary

Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. It’s week to of the annual summer Solstice event inDestiny 2, giving players another opportunity to continue killing mobs inside of the European Aerial Zone, tossing orbs at a massive bonfire, and unlocking all of the challenges inside the Event Card. That means players can also continue farming for the perfect roll with the event’s newStrand-based rocket launcher called The Crowning Duologue.

While the core gameplay loop of Solstice remains largely the same has it has in years past, fans have continued to look forward, both at the upcoming Season 22 and as to what Bungie has planned in a few weeks at its SHowcase Event. In fact, just recently, Bungie dropped a few more tid bits about Season 22, detailing a few of the bigger economy changes it has planned. Though the weekly blog post also revealed new details on plans for theExotic Mission Rotator as well as major changes to the Dead Man’s Tale scout rifle.

Where is Xur?

This weekend,Destiny 2players will need to head to the Winding Cove in the EDZ to find Xur.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Winter’s Guile - Warlock gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

Warlord’s Sigil - Eliminating enemies with melee attacks increases your melee damage.

Warlocks who enjoy melee attacking enemies may want to have a look at this exotic. It’s certainly not going to replace the top tier meta exotic gear, but under the right circumstances, it could be fun to mess around with. The roll is pretty solid this week as well, with a bonus to Strength which further enhances melee abilities.

Gwisin Vest - Hunter chest armor

Roving Assassin - Each Spectral Blades kill the player makes before going into stealth will restore more of their Super energy.

Destiny 2 Hawkmoon Hand Cannon

While the roll is solid, but not spectacular as some of these items can be with Xur, the Gwisin Vest isn’t a bad choice. While it has certainly had its moment in the sun in years past, it really only benefits Spectral Blade equipped Nightstalkers, so buyer beware.

Khepri’s Horn - Titan helmet

Solar Rampart - Solar final blows recharge Barricade, which unleashes a blast of Solar energy that scorches targets when summoned.

Finally, a Xur exotic that doesn’t feature a huge amount of mobility for Titan players. Unfortunately, the item this week is Khepri’s Horn which can be decent for crowd control, but it does force players to utilize Solar weapons and/or the Sunbreaker class. Either way, this isn’t a must have, so players can certainly pass.

Exotic Weapon

This weekend, players will find the Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher with Xur. Mad Scientist allows this weapon to fire a volley of rockets instead of just one at a time like the others. Volatile Launch goes even further to make this weapon even more explosive by greatly increasing blast radius and slightly decreasing handling speed and projectile speed.

For newer players, this is a great PvE weapon as it can handle swarms of enemies with relative ease as well as doing some big damage to PvE activity bosses as well. However, compared to some other rocket launcher choices likethe powerful and team friendly Gjallarhorn, the Wardcliff may have been upstaged.

Weapon perks:

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
