Another week, another information dump by Bungie in advance ofDestiny 2: Beyond Light. With the expansion now only weeks away, Bungie revealed howweapons are changing in the expansion. Weapons and the various frames are all being adjusted, especially the different hand cannon types and their rate of fire. Aggressive hand cannons now have a rate of fire increased to 120 and players can better custom tune their stats. Lightweight frames have been folded into the Adaptive (140 RoF) subfamily, though Bungie has teased that the Sunshot exotic hand cannon will retain the 150 rate of fire.

Outside of the very specific weapon class changes, Bungie has also sought to balance more than a couple weapons which currently may be viewed as overpowered for better or worse. Thebiggest offender is arguably The Mountaintop, a weapon that is fairly divisive among theDestiny 2community. Not only is the plash damage getting a 33% reduction, its projectiles are slower and it’s going to be much less accurate in the air. Other weapons facing nerfs is the Falling Guillotine heavy sword, 600 RPM auto rifles like the Gnawing Hunger, Ruinous Effigy’s transmutation sphere, and more.

While there is change on the horizon, one thing that never changes is the appearance of Xur, the exotic merchant who arrives inside ofDestiny 2each weekend. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he’s currently selling for the weekend of July 30, 2025.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can track down Xur on Earth inside the Winding Cove of the European Dead Zone.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor

Keep in mind that Xur isno longer selling collection rolled gear, a welcomed change of pace from the past few years. The armor he now has features randomized stats and perks, which should revitalize player interest in what the merchant has each week. In addition, players can use an Exotic Cypher to purchase a second fated engram from the merchant.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Felwinter’s Helm - Warlock helmet

Just on sale two weeks ago, Xur has brought back Felwinter’s Helm again. Duringseason 10, Felwinter’s Helmwas once a damage powerhouse thanks to a bug that let players proc the item’s special ability after each kill. Bungie was forced to disable the exotic to fix it.

Not much has changed since this was last on sale. Felwinter’s remains a solid exotic, though it’s not likely going to replace the traditional go to items. The item comes with the Warlord’s End perk that turns any Solar, Void, or Arc melee kill into a burst of energy that weakens nearby enemies. Finishers and elite kills make this burst stronger through a bigger radius and longer debuff.

Cerberus +1

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Lucky Pants - Hunter leg armor

For better or worse, the lucky streak continues for Hunters. This week is the Lucky Pants, an exotic item that may not be very exciting, but could be a little more important with all of the hand cannon changes coming in Beyond Light. Its intrinsic perk, Illegally Modded Holster, loads one round into the chamber of stowed hand cannons after a precision hit. In addition, hand cannons ready faster and have a bonus to accuracy after switching to them.

Players may want to pick these up and store them away prior to the upcoming expansion. Bungie has yet to detail the exotic changes which are going to be coming in the sandbox update, so perhaps these exotics may be getting a boost. Obviously, with all of the weapon changes, players may want to take a look at these as they may be a viable option withso many hand cannon exotics availablein game. That said, this item also has a pretty solid roll this week.

Heart of Inmost Light - Titan chest armor

Arguably the most sought after item on this list, the Heart of Inmost Light is a very easy recommendation for Titan players this week. This is gear that is rarely ever seen with Xur, so players should jump on this offer, especially with the high stats roll this week.

An item that pairs really well withany Titan subclass, the Heart of Inmost Light comes with the intrinsic perk called Overflowing Light. When using any ability, the other two abilities are empowered. Basically, this gives them faster regeneration, melee and grenade damage, and more hit points for Barricades. A valuable trait for sure, especially for more difficult activities inside the game.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Exotic Weapon

Originallyintroduced inside of the Forsaken expansion, the Cerberus+1 is an auto rifle that acts more like a shotgun. The reason for this is due to its intrinsic perk called Four-Headed Dog which causes the gun to shoot erratic bullets from all four gun barrels when fired. However, the players gains a bit more control over where these shots go thanks to its exotic trait, Spread Shot Package. Aiming the weapon reduces the projectile spread.

For most players, the Cerberus is a fun weapon to play around with, though it behaves more like a fully automatic shotgun using primary ammo. As expected, this weapon has not accurate at range, but is more than capable at shredding enemies who get too close. In the game’s current meta, this isn’t a required weapon to own, but it’s fun to mess around with, especially when clearing large groups of enemies.
