Summary

Diablo 4is the most recent installment of the belovedDiablofranchise, following the iconicDiablo 3and continuing the ever-evolving story about Hell and all its denizens. The engaging plot isn’t the only thing carried forward fromDiablo 3intoDiablo 4, however. Armor works much like it did in the previous game, with players randomly finding pieces when looting or slaying enemies. Those pieces will vary in rarity, ultimately determining how good it is at doing its job. Most items themselves don’t have set stats.

As such, to ensure that this list has the most current and relevant information, this list has been updated to include these newly addedDiablo 4 Necromancer armor sets. Information has also been added detailing how players can obtain these armor sets in the game; this can be found under each description of an armor set.

diablo 4 necromancer sturdy armor set

28Sturdy

This armor set lands last place on the list because it just isn’t as visually striking as some of the other Necromancer armor sets. It’s very basic and, frankly, pretty boring. The baggy pants and thick gloves do nothing to show off the Necromancer’s body, which is covered in some pretty cool tattoos that players may want to show off. The helmet is another reason why this armor set just isn’t very appealing. The large crest just doesn’t fit the Necromancer aesthetic at all, making this armor set the last aesthetic players might gravitate toward.

How To Unlock

Pieces of the Sturdy Set can be dropped by enemies or looted from chests. By taking them to a blacksmith and salvaging them, players will be able to transmogrify this set, making it accessible across characters.

27Adventurer

While this armor set doesn’t exactly scream Necromancer, it does give characters that iconic adventurer look that many players may want to go for. It’s very chunky and would probably be a lot for the frail frame of the Necromancer, but it looks pretty intimidating, so it gets some points there.

The helmet for this armor set is also pretty unique, which makes it stand out from the other Necromancer armor sets, but it lands so low on the list for the whole set, not being quite unique enough.

The Adventurer armor set is another collection that will be dropped by enemies or from looting chests. Players will then need to salvage these pieces at a blacksmith to access the transmogrified version that allows the armor to be applied to any items.

26Triune Apostate (Store)

This armor set is one that players will unfortunately have to spend real money on, and when compared to some of the other armor sets in the game, it’s simply not worth it. The mask is kind of cool; it’s fun and different, but that’s about all this armor set really brings to the table. The actual outfit itself feels especially clunky on the Necromancer’s frail frame, and it just isn’t worth spending real money on something that doesn’t embrace the Necromancer aesthetic in the slightest. The outfit is quite nice, with some unique leg and arm wraps that show a little more skin, but it may not ultimately be worth the price to most players.

In order to acquire this armor set, players must purchase the Triune Apostate Bundle from the store. It costs 2500 Platinum. Players are able to acquire 2800 Platinum by spending $24.99.

25Death in Hawezar (Store)

Another basic armor set that Blizzard wants real money for without putting in any real effort. It has a few skulls, so at least it fits into the Necromancer aesthetic, but the headpiece just looks heavy and clunky, especially when parts of the Necromancer’s slight frame are peeking through the armor. The clawed hands are quite nice, and the detail on the belt medallion is pretty unique, but all in all, the set just feels completely uninspired, especially when compared to some of the later entries on this list.

Players can acquire this cosmetic by purchasing the Death in Hawezar bundle, which costs 1400 Platinum, equivalent to about $14.

24Heavy

While this armor set has some unique and interesting details, like the metal claws on the hands, it’s a pretty basic armor set otherwise and doesn’t do much to contribute to the Necromancer aesthetic. With the right color scheme, this armor set could look rather intimidating, which is a huge plus, but with its base colors, the set just doesn’t read as being very Necromancer. Some players may enjoy this armor set for its elegant and imposing nature, but other than that, this armor set doesn’t have much appeal.

The Heavy armor set can be looted from fallen enemies or chests. Once acquired, the pieces must be salvaged at a blacksmith in order to unlock the transmogrified version of this armor, which will then be available across characters.

diablo 4 heavy necromancer armor set

23Fur-Lined

Despite only having a few fur-lined elements in the armor set, these pieces come together in an aesthetically pleasing way. For players who don’t mind their character’s face being covered, this armor set comes with a pretty sick helmet that definitely embodies the Necromancer aesthetic.

It even comes with some pretty cool horns that will make characters look extra badass as they raise their undead hordes and sic them on their enemies. This armor set also has a few skulls dotted around to add to the Necromancer vibe.

This armor set is another that requires players to loot the necessary items from fallen enemies or chests before salvaging them at a blacksmith and transmogrifying the armor set.

diablo 4 killer necromancer armor set

22Killer

This armor set is an exclusive reward for competing in PVP events, so it can require a little more dedication when acquiescing the full set, especially when compared to some of the other entries on this list. The effort may be worth it for some players, but others may not care to put in the time for something that feels very ordinary. This armor set, while looking good on the Necromancer, doesn’t exactly suit the aesthetic. It only scores some points on this list for not coming with a helmet that can often cover the character’s hair or face. It’s a rather basic reward for engaging in PVP fights, but it may suit players who prefer casual and comfortable armor sets.

In order to acquire this set, players will need to grind in the Fields of Hatred in order to obtain 390,000 Red Dust. This Red Dust can then be used to buy the armor set from the PVP vendor, who can be found in either of the player towns in the Fields of Hatred.

diablo 4 hide necromancer armor set

21Hide

While this armor set doesn’t scream Necromancer, it is a cozy, casual outfit that players can give their Necromancers without worrying too much about the aesthetics. This piece doesn’t come with a helmet or headpiece, so players may end up favoring this armor if they don’t want to cover their characters' faces or hair. Despite not being terribly unique, it fills a gap in the market for a simple armor set that doesn’t have a helmet, so that’s very much appreciated.

to unlock the transmogrified version of this armor, players will need to collect the pieces from fallen enemies or from lootable chests. The pieces will then need to be taken to the blacksmith, where they can be salvaged to complete the transmogrification process.

diablo 4 necromancer strider armor set

20Strider

While this armor set is definitely on the basic side, it’s a nice, casual look for the Necromancerslooking for something that still says “Necromancer” without being too over the top. The one greatest downfall with this armor set, however, is the helmet.

The helmet is super chunky compared to the rest of the armor, which seems to fit quite nicely on the character’s frame. The colors are also a little uninspired, but once the set has been transmogrified, players will be able to customize the color scheme to their liking.

diablo 4 classic necromancer armor set

This is another armor set that will require players to loot the various pieces from fallen enemies or chests before heading to the blacksmith and salvaging them so they can be used for their aesthetic.

19Classic

This armor set is perfectly mid. The name ‘Classic’ suits this armor set because it just feels like a traditional armor set without all the bells and whistles of the snazzier outfits. While this armor set does have a few details that make it unique, and some of them are hugely redeeming, the chunky belt around the waist and the weirdly flat shoulder pieces just can’t be excused. The top is really nice, and the way it exposes the tattoos of the Necromancer is nice to see in one of their exclusive armor sets, so this could still be a great choice for players looking for an understated look.

The Classic armor set is a pretty basic armor, so players will have to go about this the usual way. Collect the items from fallen enemies and chests before heading to the blacksmith and salvaging them so they can be transmogrified and the armor set can remain accessible.
