The Rogue’s Rapid Fire ability inDiablo 4is capable of dealing unmatched single-target damage, making it an excellent elite and boss killer. However, its low AOE potential makes it hard to use early on, especially when players are still unequipped.

Diablo 4’s Rogue Rapid Fire skill

After reaching the later half ofDiablo 4,however, players will be able to use Rapid Fire to clear all content quickly and painlessly. Once the right items and effects are equipped, this skill becomes extremely versatile at all levels and against any threat. Here’s an endgame Rapid Fire set up for the endgame.

Poison Trap

TheImproved Rapid Fireupgrade makes the skill somewhat self-sufficient when it comes to Energy costs. Once players get the Exploit Glyphon their Paragon Board, they can run this build without a Basic Skill. Until then, use ofFundamental Punctureis recommended.

Concealmentis the build’s main defensive skill. It breaks stuns and gives Unstoppable while also allowing players to get out of a bad spot. TheCounteringupgrade makes the Rogue’s next attack a guaranteed Critical Strike.

The build uses both Poison and Shadow Imbuement to add more damage to Rapid Fire’s bursts. Shadow will be the player’s main source of AOE damage while Poison will help burn down bosses and elites much quicker.

Cap the build-off with Poison Trap for the added Crowd Control and a chance to reset Imbuement skills when triggered. This also increases the Rogue’s crit stats thanks to one of the passive nodes in the skill tree.

Concussive

This setup is relatively standard for many ranged Rogue builds. The main difference here is players will be investing more points into Imbuement and Trap passives since those abilities play major roles. If players are having trouble surviving, swap Concussive out for Sturdy.

Precisionis the preferred Key Passive since it synergizes with all the Critical Strike Chance the build gets from skills and items. Each individual Rapid Fire arrow that crits will count towards Precision’s stack counter and, when stacks are full, every arrow from the next Rapid Fire burst will critically strike with increased damage.

TheCombo Pointsspecializationis great for boosting Rapid Fire’s damage against elites and bosses. Players don’t have to use it against normal mobs, but a single point is often enough to buff their outgoing DPS by a noticeable margin.

Eluding

Arrow Storm(*)

The most important Aspect to get here isRepeating. It allows Rapid Fire’s shots to ricochet toward other enemies, essentially solving the skill’s weakness against groups of enemies. Ricocheted shots will apply any active Imbuement skill, which makes spreading Shadow infection easier.

Acceleratingis another priority Aspect that players should have on their Amulet. With all the crits players will be scoring, this Aspect will be active almost all the time, massively increasing Rapid Fire’s damage output. Pair this with a resource Aspect likeUmbralorRavenousto solve any potential Energy problems.

Aspect of Arrow Stormsis nice to have for more AOE, but players can swap this out forToxic AlchemistorBursting Venominstead for stronger Poison procs.

The defensive Aspects listed above are great for all builds. However, players may want to consider addingEludingif CC becomes a problem.

As for weapons, Crossbows are preferred over Bows due to their implicit Vulnerable Damage rolls. One-handed weapons won’t matter in this build, so just get ones that give any of the priority stats listed below:

Paragon Board

EquipCombaton the Starting Board, then takeCunning Stratagemfor the Dominant and Finisher nodes as well as its Glyph Socket, which is where players will be slotting inExploit.

From here, players should go tothe nearest Attachment Gateand getDeadly Ambushfor its bonuses against trapped targets. Players can get the offensive Rare nodes here or move on to theExploit Weaknessboard, which increases damage to Vulnerable targets. It also has the Hunter Killer node that makes taking out elites much easier.

Diablo 4is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
