Some fans of the game have taken to social media to voice their concerns over theDisney Dreamlight Valleymicrotransactions, with Reddit user jaustengirl making a post about the situation that has amassed over 1.2 thousand upvotes at the time of this writing. Jaustengirl points out that the prices are “too expensive” and that while it’s true that these microtransactions are “just cosmetic,“Disney Dreamlight Valleyis a game built entirely around obtaining new cosmetics.

Jaustengirl went as far as to call theDisney Dreamlight Valleymicrotransactions “disrespectful” as those that purchased the early access version of the game “essentially paid [Gameloft] to beta test the game.” Many others voiced a similar opinion, and some even called on fellowDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayersto basically boycott the game’s moonstones.

Many users are not optimistic that boycottingDisney Dreamlight Valleymicrotransactions will result in any change. It was pointed out by Reddit user Ireallyneedhelppls2 that games with microtransactions tend to survive on “whales,” consumers that spend ridiculous amounts of money on a particular game. It’s well documented that the majority offree-to-play gamersdon’t spend a dime on the games they’re playing, soDisney Dreamlight Valleyis likely unconcerned that most of its player base will likely be avoid paying real money for moonstones. It will simply need to find enough “whales” to support it.

Disney Dreamlight Valleyis available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
