Disney Illusion Islandhas dropped a surprise update for players. Although there is a long line of releases in theDisney Illusionfranchise,Disney Illusion Islandappears to distinguish itself in a couple different ways, firstly by switching out spritework for a hand-drawn art style. The platformer also incorporates multiplayer and takes the focus away from combat. In addition, this game has updates that add even more to the experience.
Although the game is not particularly long,Disney Illusion Islandreleased to a generally positive reception, and it offers players plenty of different things to do. In addition to the main campaign, there are many collectibles that will increase playtime by several hours, and players who have enjoyed the game on their own can experience it in a new way with up to three more players. It appears that the developers at Dlala Studios have focused on offering players even more to do with a new update.
A new update forDisney Illusion Islandcalled Mystery in Monoth is available now. In Mystery in Monoth, Dash Dolphin recruits the crew of Disney characters to hunt for clues and help solve a case for him. Players will be tasked with exploring Monoth and finding new collectibles that serve as evidence as they add pins to a new themed dashboard map. Previously,Disney Illusion Islandreceived the Keeper Up updatein December that introduced Time Trial challenges and a Hard Mode, so there’s a chance that there’s even more to come.
Disney Illusion Island Mystery in Monoth Update Trailer
Creative Director AJ Grand-Scrutton has previouslydiscussed the development process ofDisney Illusion Island, and mentioned the amount of biomes added and taken out in the process. The Keeper Up update prioritized on additional features, but Mystery in Monoth adds an entirely new narrative and locations. It could be possible that some of the ideas used from the two scrapped biomes duringDisney Illusion Island’sdevelopment have gone into part of the process with these updates.
It is entirely possible that Dlala Studios may have added plenty of ideas afterDisney Illusion Island’srelease as well. Regardless, the abundance of content in these updates could point to a promising future for the replayability ofDisney Illusion Island. Dlala Studios has already added plenty that builds upon the initial release, which is likely to improve the impression it left players with when some suggestedit as one of the best Switch games of 2023.
