Summary

Dragon Ballis a series that focuses more on the strength of its characters than anything else, so much so that self-improvement and the gathering of even more power remain the primary objectives of the heroes. It’s due to this that Goku and Vegeta have obtained transformations that house Divine Techniques, becoming so powerful that they both have been considered candidates to fill the role of Universe 7’s God of Destruction after Beerus’s retirement.

However, the level of power needed to be called the strongest mortals in the universe isn’t something unique to the Saiyans. In fact, the concept of the multiverseis something that was introduced inDragon Ball Superand it showed 11 other universes aside from the one where the main cast resides, greatly expanding upon the world of the series. So, let’s take a look at the most powerful mortal in each universe inDragon Ball.

Iwan From Dragon Ball Super

God of Destruction: Iwan

First Appearance

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 78, “Even the Universes' Gods are Appalled?! The Lose-and Perish Tournament of Power!”

Universe’s Angel

Awamo

Unknown. Universe 1 was one of the 4 universes exempt from the Tournament of Power due to its high mortal level.

God of Destruction: Heles

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 91, “Which Universe Will Win Their Place?! The Mighty Warriors Gradually Assemble!”

Sour

Though their showing in the Tournament of Power was one that fans of the series remember to this day, Universe 2 was actually one of the weaker ones. Their abilities were fairly one-note and even the most powerful among them were not on the level ofthe stronger fighters in the Tournament. Still, though, Ribrianne had some decent showings and transformations that put her up a little higher than the rest of her universe.

Happiness to one and all! I send you my love!

Ribrianne Dragon Ball

Most Notable Feat

After her various battles in the arc, Ribrianne showed her ultimate power when she fought to take out Androids 17 and 18, transforming into a giant version of herself and increasing her power exponentially. This proved to be a great hindrance for the heroes, though they were able to work together and defeat the warriors from Universe 2 shortly after this power-up.

God of Destruction: Mule

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 121, “All-Out War! The Ultimate Four-Fold Union vs. the 7th Universe’s Total Offensive!”

Camparri

Born from the union of multiple warriors belonging to Universe 3, Anilaza was a gigantic and monstrous being who was powerful enough to deal incredible damage to the stage and many other fighters. Despite his gargantuan size, Anilaza was even faster than any of theprevious warriors who made him up, as he was able to take on multiple warriors from many universes at the same time.

It’s called the Tournament of Power! Sheer, brute force is all that’s gonna matter!

Anilaza was an incredibly tough villain. Though he proved to be nothing for Jiren, it took the combined power of Universe 7’s greatest fighters to finally take him down. Before this, he was taking on Super Saiyan Vegeta, Golden Frieza, and Super Saiyan God Goku with relative ease and was only knocked off the stage after a beam struggle against the same characters but with the addition of Ultimate Gohan and Android 17.

God of Destruction: Quitela

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 119, “Unavoidable?! The Ferocity of a Stealth Attack!”

Cognac

Universe 4 was considered to be pretty cowardly and deceptive in general. Due to this, many of the members of this universe weren’t exactly strong in the traditional sense, only really relying on certain abilities or quirks that would help them win the battle. This was doubly true for Damom, who, despite being considered as one of theuniverse’s top 10 strongest fighters, was just too small for anyone to see!

Figuring out my identity means nothing!

Damom is so small that people can’t usually see him, allowing him to get off a surprise attack on them. It was because of this and his genuine formidable power, which let him not only dodge Android 1 and Goku’s attacks but also knock Piccolo out of the Tournament, that he performed so well in the first place!

God of Destruction: Arak

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 78, “Even the Universes' Gods are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power!”

Cukatail

Unknown. Universe 5 was one of the 4 universes exempt from the Tournament of Power due to its high mortal level.

God of Destruction: Champa

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 114, “Bloodcurdling! The Explosive Birth of a New Super Warrior!”

Vados

A good way into the Tournament of Power, the Omni-Kingspermitted the usage of fusion techniquesto birth new and powerful warriors. Universe 6 jumped onto this very quickly, leading to the Potara fusion of its 2 strongest characters, Kale and Caulifla, into a singularly powerful character named Kefla, who was able to give many of her enemies a run for their money!

My power just keeps rising, it’s incredible! I gotta say, it’s a real privilege to be born a Saiyan!

damom

In the anime, Kefla held out for a good while against Ultra Instinct Omen Goku. While it was different in the manga, both iterations truly show how powerful this character was. She took on Super Saiyan God Goku and was even shown to shrug off some of his attacks and even fought against Super Saiyan Blue Goku on equal footing, forcing him to go Ultra Instinct Omen to fully defeat her!

Whis

Unlike the other universes, Universe 7 is the only one fans have kept up with since the Tournament of Power ended. Due to this, it’s the only universe whose members have been shown as having a great boost of strength compared to before, none more so than Frieza. After the Tournament of Power,Frieza trained in a Hyperbolic Time Chamberfor an equivalent time of 10 years, unlocking a form that isn’t only the strongest being in Universe 7, but is perhaps the most powerful mortal in the entire multiverse!

Meet Black Frieza! Achieving this form took plenty of toil, I’ll have you know.

Arak in Dragon Ball Super

Black Frieza’s time in the series has been very brief since he has only had one appearance. However, that was all he needed, since he was able to knock out both Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta in a single hit, making a mockery of their strongest forms and the Divine Techniques housed within them. It should also be noted that these versions of the Saiyans were also much more powerful than they were in the Tournament of Power!

God of Destruction: Liquiir

Korn

Unknown. Universe 8 was one of the 4 universes exempt from the Tournament of Power due to its high mortal level.

God of Destruction: Sidra

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 78 “Even the Universes' Gods are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power!”

Mohito

Bergamo is an interesting character. Although he is considered to be Universe 9’s most powerful mortal character, his true strength is shown when he fights as one of the Trio of Dangers alongside Basil and Lavender. When working together, they trulybecome a powerful enemy to face, especially when taken in tandem with Bergamo’s ability to absorb his opponent’s attacks to make himself stronger.

Hit me! As soon as you do, you’ll understand why in the 9th Universe, I’m called Bergamo the Crusher!

Kefla from Dragon Ball Super

Bergamo fought on equal footing against many of Goku’s forms but was eventually overpowered when the Saiyan powered up a little more in his Super Saiyan Blue form. In the Tournament of Power, Bergamo and the remaining members of the Trio of Dangers unloaded powerful attacks onto Goku and Vegeta, forcing the Saiyans to go Super Saiyan Blue and combine their powers into an exceptional Final Kamehameha to defeat their opponents.

God of Destruction: Rumsshi

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 96, “The Time Has Come! To the Null Realm With the Universes on the Line!”

Kusu

Obni was a fighter from Universe 10 with exceptional martial arts skills. Though his stint in the Tournament of Power was a relatively forgettable one, his fight against Gohan showed him to be a pretty dynamic and tricky fighter to face. He had a varied move set but his true ability shone with his speed, which he used to disorient and wear down his opponent’s defenses.

Well met, Gohan of Earth. I am pleased we crossed paths.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 The Case for Black Frieza

Obni fought Ultimate Gohan on equal footing, even getting the better of his opponent multiple times during their fight. This was shown when Gohan, even in his Ultimate form, couldn’t match Obni in terms of speed or strength, forcing him to change his strategy and outsmart his opponent by purposefully taking damage.

God of Destruction: Belmod

Marcarita

Though not a villain in the traditional sense, Jiren served as the central protagonist for the entire Universal Survival arc, since he was the biggest hurdle for the heroes to overcome.Jiren’s strength was monstrous, as he was able to defeat many of his opponents in the Tournament with a mere glance that let out an attack strong enough to defeat many weaker participants. It was due to his incredible power that Goku was able to awaken a technique of the Angels; Ultra Instinct.

All is meaningless without victory. To be defeated is to lose everything.

Liquiir in Dragon Ball Super

Jiren’s performance throughout the Tournament was incredible to witness since his power simply couldn’t be challenged. He took on Goku multiple times, won out over both Goku and Vegeta together, went toe-to-toe with Ultra Instinct Omen, and, most impressively of all, stood up against Goku, Frieza, and Android 17 after taking a great beating from Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku. Due to his exceptional power, Jiren has cemented his name as one of the franchise’s most powerful characters.

God of Destruction: Giin

Martinu

Unknown. Universe 12 was one of the 4 universes exempt from the Tournament of Power due to its high mortal level.
