Summary

Techland’s zombie action-RPGDying Light 2has released a brand-new update, fixing a ton of bugs found with the game’s most recent content drop. The overall player experience forDying Light 2continues to improve all the time, and this latest update is another extension of that.

Despite recently celebrating its second anniversary, Techland frequently continues to update the game with quick hotfixes and bigger content drops. Just recently, the massive Firearms Update forDying Light 2was released, bringing a bunch of new quests and rewards into the game. This coincided with the release of the Reloaded Edition, which allowed players to catch up on all the content they’d missed between launch and the Firearms Update. It’s undoubtedly been a busy period for the studio, which, with each update, continues to reaffirm itsfive-year commitment toDying Light 2support.

The 1.15.3 update is available across all platforms, bringing a bunch of fixes to one of thebest co-op zombie gamesaround. Crucially, this patch doesn’t bring any new content into the game, and is instead dedicated to simply fixing bugs introduced by the Firearms Update. These aren’t exactly a glamorous element of the game’s second anniversary celebrations, but it’s a necessary patch all the same.

Some of the bug fixes to theDying Light 2Firearms Updateare retroactive to existing saves. For example, anyone who lost the Tolga and Fatin quest items due to a bug will receive them upon loading up the game. On top of the bug fixes are some interesting balancing tweaks, including the addition of more weak Biters to the AI population. It’ll be interesting to see if Techland plays with this balance any further in future updates, or if it feels it’s in the right place now.

While it’s great to see more fixes for any remaining bugs inDying Light 2, players shouldn’t expect the updates to stop there. Last year, Techland released its2024 roadmap forDying Light 2, highlighting the studio’s commitment to bringing even more free content into the game. While some of what was outlined arrived in the form of the Firearms Update, some features are still missing, such as the planned Nightmare difficulty. It’s unknown exactly when Nightmare will be released, although it is still penciled in for some point this year.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human

WHERE TO PLAY

It’s been 20 years since the events of the original game. The virus won, and humanity is slowly dying. You play as Aiden Caldwell, a wandering Pilgrim who delivers goods, brings news, and connects the few remaining survivor settlements in barren lands devastated by the zombie virus. However, your true goal is to find your little sister Mia, who you left behind as a kid to escape Dr. Waltz’s torturous experiments. Haunted by the past, you eventually make the decision to confront it when you learn that Mia may still be alive in Villedor — the last city standing on Earth. You quickly find yourself in a settlement torn by conflict. You’ll need to engage in creative and gory combat, so hone your skills to defeat hordes of zombies and make allies. Roam the city, free run across Villedor’s buildings and rooftops in search of loot in remote areas, and be wary of the night. With every sunset, monsters take control of the streets.
