The latest outbreak event inPokemon Scarlet and Violethas arrived for the rest of the summer, with the outbreaks properly beginning on July 12 and ending September 1. With the outbreaks swapping every few weeks, there’s a sizable array ofshiny-boosted Pokemoncoming in the Paldea region and beyond.
Between the most classic Pokemon to more recent favorites, to Pokemon that simply have good shinies, the summer outbreaks have a great variety of both rare and powerful Pokemon that players will want to hunt for. Since these Pokemon only appear on one of the specific maps during their outbreak week, there are plenty of details players need to know.

13Pichu
Tiny Mouse Pokemon
The retroactively first Pokemon in the Pikachu line, Pichu will be featured in outbreaks around thePaldearegion. Pichu may be an easy Pokemon to battle, but finding the shiny sprite isn’t quite as simple.
One of the many Pokemon with an unfortunate shiny color, Pichu’s far rarer form is just a more saturated yellow than usual. With the lack of an auditory or visual indicator for shinies, actually noticing the shiny Pichu requires more effort.

12Pikachu
Mouse Pokemon
Paired with Mimikyu outbreaks in theKitakamiregion, Pikachu has a similar shiny problem as Pichu. Despite being the mascot of the series, Pikachu has a lackluster shiny. Appearing as a more saturated and deeper yellow Pikachu, players will have to be careful picking which electric mice to fight and to ignore, especially with the often unhelpful lighting ofScarlet and Violet.
11Mimikyu
Disguise Pokemon
An unofficial member of the Pikachu line, the perfectly disguised Mimikyu will appear in outbreaks throughout the land ofKitakami, continuing its lore as being obsessed and jealous of Pikachu. Thankfully, shiny Mimikyu is a drastic shift from the dirty yellow of the usual cloth. Its shiny sprite is practically white, standing out against every other ghost in the outbreak.
10Raichu & Alolan Raichu
The often-forgotten evolution of Pikachu, both Kantonian Raichu and its Alolan variant will appear in outbreaks in theTerarrium of the Blueberry Academy. For players wanting to shiny hunt Alolan Raichu in particular, this outbreak will be crucial.
While the original form of Raichu turns a slightly softer orange, Alolan Raichu turns a deep chocolate brown, matching the sweets and pancake-based origin of this regional variant.

9Tatsugiri
Mimicry Pokemon
One of the newDragon types available inScarlet and Violet, all forms of Tatsugiri will start appearing in outbreaks startingJuly 25. As there are three forms of Tatsugiri, each variant can be found in one of the three regions of the game.
For players wanting the orange, curly Tatsugiri, the outbreaks will appear in the Paldea region. The pink, droopy form will appear in Kitakami. The yellow, stretchy Tatsugiri will be found in the Blueberry Academy.

8Wattrel
Storm Petrel Pokemon
Theregional bird of the Paldea region, players will have a chance to find shiny Wattrel startingAugust 8.Swapping the black feathers for a more brown tone, players won’t have to look too hard to locate this rare bird. While the slightly browner look of shiny Wattrel isn’t a distinct change compared to the usual form, actually spotting it among the usual birds isn’t a difficult challenge.
7Riolu
Emanation Pokemon
A drastic color swap, shiny Riolu can be found in outbreaks spawning throughout the land ofKitakami. Although Riolu is certainly an easy shiny to find from any distance, the boosted odds are greatly appreciated. Since Riolu’s normal color is a teal blue, it is practically impossible to miss the bright yellow jackal in the outbreak mob.
6Comfey
Posy Picker Pokemon
Perhaps the most perfectly themed Pokemon for the Alola region, Comfey will receive boosted shiny odds during its time in the outbreak rotation. Spawning across theBlueberry Academy’s Terrarium, players will have to keep a sharp eye out for the lei-inspired Pokemon’s shiny.
While the swap from Comfey’s green body to blue is pretty distinct, the size of Comfey is the true challenge to this hunt. As one of the smaller Pokemon in existence, players will have to get up close to properly tell the shiny apart.

5Larvitar
Rock Skin Pokemon
Appearing across Paldea startingAugust 22, Larvitar alongside Bagon will star in shiny-boosted outbreaks. While not as intense of a color change as other shinies, Larvitar’s deeply saturated green shiny won’t be too difficult to spot in the crowd. Sporting a pink stomach plate instead of red, players who want thispseudo-legendary Pokemondon’t have to look too hard to find it.
4Bagon
Another powerhouse Pokemon that turns green when shiny, Bagon will spawn in outbreaks alongside the Larvitar outbreaks, making a pair between these version-exclusive Pokemon.Outside of thenewly paradoxical versionof Salamence, players wanting the classic form of this Dragon Pokemon should make use of this outbreak, especially since the bright green sticks out tremendously from the usual blue.
