One thing few can disagree with is that Sony knows how to make an excellent sizzle trailer for its in-developmentPlayStationgames. EachPlayStationgame showcase or media event features such a trailer, often as the show ends. The sizzle trailer will tease PlayStation games featured in the show, tantalizing players with great-looking gameplay one last time. Fans have grown so enamored with the trailers that they’re even making them themselves, like with a popular video featuring upcoming PlayStation 5 game releases.

Shared on Reddit, the video comes from Youtuber A Giant Enemy Crabtree. Going by PunishedCrab on Reddit, the video creator says that they made the sizzle reel focusing on upcoming games forPlayStation in 2022. They do correct themselves and say some games are scheduled for beyond 2023, though. The style of the video is an emulation of PlayStation’s showcases and presentation, mixing music with cuts between gameplay and cinematic sequences, and the fan replicates it quite well.

The first 10 seconds of the trailer jump through over a dozen upcoming PlayStation games, includingHorizon Forbidden West,Dying Light 2,Ghostwire Tokyo, Wolverine,Stray,Little Devil Inside,Ghostwire Tokyo, Hogwarts Legacy,Elden Ring,Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Forspoken,Tchia,Goodbye Volcano High, Gran Turismo 7, andSolar Ash. Most of these games aren’t immediately recognizable based on the initial clip shown, but that’s part of the sizzle effect. The brief tease pulls viewers into the rest of the trailer.

In the remaining 70 seconds of the trailer, PunishedCrab slows down and offers longer looks at each game. These longer clips offer a better taste of each game’s personality, edited to flow along with the video’s music track, “Oblivion” by Royal Blood. Other games featured from this point on includeTiny Tina’s Wonderlands,Suicide Squad,Final Fantasy 16,Saints Row,God of War: Ragnarok,Spider-Man 2,Project Eve, andGotham Knights.

Overall, the trailer fits a healthy 23 games into less than a minute and a half of footage, mixing games both large and small. Not every game has a release date yet, likeInsomniac’sWolverine, but all games are confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 5.

This just goes to show that PlayStation has built a culture surrounding not only its games, but its platform. It isn’t just excitement over these upcoming 23 games, but also excitement over the way PlayStation’s presents them. Gamers enjoy the way that PlayStation makes them feel excited about games, and fan content like this helps make the wait for thenext PlayStation Showcaseevent a little easier.
