Marc McGinley, a senior game designer who has been working atUbisoft Montrealfor several years, announced on Twitter that today would be his last day at the studio. He said that he would miss those he worked with onFar Cry 6, with many people wishing him well. However, it begs to question as to how exactly this will impact the development ofFar Cry 6.

For some fans, the lack of updates regarding the development ofFar Cry 6is fairly concerning, and now that a senior designer like McGinley is leaving the studio, it’s understandably worrying. The situation may not be as extreme asHalo Infinitelosing its directors, but when a high priority title likeFar Cry 6is releasing later this year, it seems like an inopportune time to lose someone that involved with the project.

In fact, outside ofFar Cry 6, there are plenty ofUbisoft games that fans have been wanting an update on, such as a possible newSplinter Cell, Beyond Good and Evil 2, andSkull and Bones. Although, it’s certainly possible that Ubisoft is waiting to provide fans with much more substantial news outside of a release date.

In the coming months, Ubisoft could potentially hold another digital event similar to last year’sUbisoft Forward events, but there has yet to be any official announcement of any such event. It’s safe to say that Ubisoft currently has quite a lot of irons in the fire, and with any luck,Far Cry 6will manage to deliver a fun and engaging experience.
