AFinal Fantasy 14player ran a test to see how quickly his fellow players would resurrect him when he died in a major hub city. By timing how long it took at each server on his data center, thisFinal Fantasy 14fan was able to rank the nicest servers on the Crystal Data Center.
Redditor andFinal Fantasy 14player BingOMango was the curious fan who ran this test. A denizen of the Crystal Data Center, BingOMango ran the test in Limsa Lominsa–the busiest of thethree original hub cities inFinal Fantasy 14–on a Saturday evening.

The Blue Mage Limited Job inFinal Fantasy 14can learn the Explosion ability to deal massive damage to nearby enemies at the cost of reducing one’s hit points to 0. By using this ability, BingOMango was able to kill his character in the hub town on each of the Crystal Data Center’s eight servers. Balmung–the famous RP server ofFinal Fantasy 14’sUS Data Centers–was the quickest, throwing a rez to him within four seconds of his death. On the other side, players on the Coeurl server let BingOMango lie dead for 12.5 minutes. On average, it took about three and a half minutes for players to resurrect him.
This scientific experiment is hardly comprehensive of course–a single test on each server is far from a large enough sample size to make any true generalizations about the community. That said, BingOMango’s science experiment was hilarious and fun all the same.
TheFinal Fantasy 14communityagreed, with hundreds of comments gathering over the first day of BingOMango sharing his findings. Many players on Balmung celebrated their swift and kind community, while players on Coeurl laughed and joked about being in last place. One fan even made a joke about how BingOMango’s character–one of the cat-like Miqo’te–needed to be careful, as he had used eight of his nine lives for the purpose of the experiment.
Final Fantasy 14’scommunity is one of its greatest assets, and it has only grown with its explosion of popularity over the years. To keep up with its popularity,Final Fantasy 14is constantly adding more servers and Data Centers across the globe to try and prevent congestion and queues. Now thatFinal Fantasy 14players can travel to other Data Centersin their region, BingOMango could run this same test on all US servers to find out which community has the fastest resurrection time.
Final Fantasy 14is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
