Heart of Clear Springs is a book series with several volumes hidden aroundGenshin Impact’s Mondstadt.
Books inGenshin Impactoperate somewhat similarly to books in other open-world RPGs.ThoughGenshin Impact’s books don’t currently offer quests or increase skills, they’re mainly used for world-building and supportingthe lore of Teyvatas collectible items. The Heart of Clear Springs books, for example, tell a tale commonly passed down by Springvale hunters, of a boy who befriends a spring fairy and solemnly falls in love with her. This has led to a fan theory that the boy from the story is Old Finch, who has been waiting for the spring fairy for a while.

To read the whole tale inGenshin Impact, players will need to collect all four volumes. Volume 1 is located in Springvale. Next to Draff, the man with cat ears, is a barrel with flowers in it. The book will be hiding there.
The second volume is found in the capital city of Mondstadt. After crossing through the city’s entrance, head up the stairs to theCat’s Tail Tavern, Diona’s bar, on the left. The table on the corner of the balcony should have the Heart of Clear Springs Volume 2, but some players are reporting a glitch where the book doesn’t show up. Make sure to check that it’s not already in the archive and report the issue to miHoYo if necessary.
Heart of Clear Springs Volume 3 is also within Mondstadt’s city walls. Head insidethe Knights of Favonius Headquarters, then go into the room inside the first door on the left. The third volume of the series is on the bookshelf in between the two couches.
Finally, the fourth volume is located atDawn Winery, Diluc’s estate. Enter the building and head towards the staircase at the back of the room. There’s a bookshelf with some piles of books stacked against it. Heart of Clear Springs Volume 4 is located here, and upon collected all 4 volumes, players will receive The Voice of Flowing Water achievement.
If players want to dive even deeper into thisGenshin Impactstory, they can find Old Finch in Springvale (north of the word “Springvale” on the map) off the side of the road. He’ll be staring into a small lake withSeelie torchesand calling out for the spring fairy. The Traveler can speak with Old Finch, who will tell a similar story to the one told in Heart of Clear Springs.
