Cosmetics have largely taken a backseat throughoutGenshin Impact’s development since the game was released in September 2020. A recent leak on Reddit by a credibleGenshin Impactleaker named Tangzhu has apparently revealed more information about upcoming costumes. The leak claims that popularGenshin Impactcharacters, Diluc and Fischl, could receive a new set of cosmetics. Both of these characters are from the Mondstadt region and the fact thatpreviousGenshin Impactrumorshave already hinted that the next pair of skins will be related to this region gives even more credibility to the leak.
The new skins could be a part of the upcoming Mondstadt expansion that should arrive in the two upcoming updates, at least according to multiple leaks. Players know that a part of the map is still locked, and apparently, the current version is only 60% of the whole region which will be expanded to the north of the city. This region is the first one that was introduced to the game and themainGenshin Impactstorybegins with the Traveler meeting Amber and heading to Mondstadt.
TheMidsummer Island Adventure eventhas brought the first two skins for popular characters Jean and Barbara. Barbara’s skin was obtainable for free just for the duration of the event, and it’s currently purchasable in the in-game shop for 1680 Genesis Crystals. Jean’s costume was never free and currently goes for the same price. The same system has been applied with the recently added Ningguang and Keqing skins as Ningguang’s skin is obtainable by finishing quests and players need to spend Genesis Crystals for Keqing’s skin. Both events brought a combination of one four-star and one five-star character and players can likely expect the same approach for Diluc and Fischl.
Genshin Impactis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
