A popularGenshin Impactleaker named GI Font has revealed the map of Teyvat including the brand new Sumeru region which is expected to arrive inGenshin Impactupdate 3.0. The new region will be placed Southwest of Chasm which confirms the previous leaks that Chasm serves as a bridge between Liyue and Sumeru. Sumeru has been described as a colorful region filled with deserts and rainforests, however, the recently released teaser has only revealed the rainforest part of the region. While the left side of Sumeru seems to be hidden, the sand-like color indicates that players will unlock Sumeru’s deserts in later updates.

Players seem excited about the large map extension as rumors claim that Sumeru will most likely be the largest nation in all of Teyvat. It will also introduce a brand-new element to theGenshin Impact’s unique combat systemwhich will have a significant impact on the current character meta. The first Sumeru update will bring three Dendro characters, including the Dendro version of the Traveler.

Thetwo new characters are Tignari and Collei, and they will most likely appear on the same banner. According to recent story leaks, Collei is very similar to Amber which means that she could be the one to introduce the main character to the new region, just like Amber did in Mondstadt. Even their kits seem to be similar since both of them have their unique sidekicks that explode dealing elemental damage in an area.

Tighnari will apparently be the only new five-star in the first Sumeru update which is scheduled to arrive at the end of August. He will apparently be a Dendro DPS unit withstrong sub-DPS capabilities. Fans expect the desert part of Sumeru to arrive in Version 3.2 which going by HoYoverse’s usual update schedule should drop around November 2022. Multiple replies in the comment section claim that the Traveler will most likely help the Dendro Archon to bring Sumeru’s deserts back to life.

Genshin Impactis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
