Genshin Impact’s upcoming updates will be packed with new content which includes a new major region as well as a couple of new playable characters. Every new version of the game also brings at least one or two new events which last for the duration of the update.

SinceGenshin Impactarrived back in September 2020, players have been asking HoYoverse to add more permanent events to the game. A popularGenshin Impactleaker has revealed that one of the upcoming updates will introduce a permanent game mode.

A recent tweet by merlin_impact has revealed thatGenshin Impactversion 3.1will introduce a new type of mini-game that will serve as a trading card game. The new mode will apparently be mostly PvE, but there is a chance that players will be able to challenge other players in their world. Multiple replies in the comment section claim that they would love to have the option to challenge some of the game’s playable characters, even if it’s just in a card game.

Fans claim they would not even mind if HoYoverse doesn’t give any Primogems through this event as long as they allow players to collect and swap cards. Having the option to collect cards of legendary characters like the five Yakshas, Raiden Shogun’s friends or older Archons would make the officialGenshin Impactstory much more popular and believable.PreviousGenshin Impactleakshave been hinting that update 3.1 will introduce three new characters: Cyno, Nilou and Candace.

There is a chance that the update also introduces the first desert part of the map in the same update considering that all three characters seem to be tied with deserts. Players claim that having a new TCG arrive alongside the game’s first dessert gives strong Yu-Gi-Oh vibes. One of Sumeru’s promo videos has confirmed thatCyno will be a new Electro polearm character.

According to previous leaks, he will be a newDPS character inGenshin Impactwith a strong focus on dealing damage with his elemental skill which apparently has a very low cooldown. The other five-star character, Nilou will probably be a new sub-DPS or support character as recent leaks revealed that she will have long cooldowns on all of her abilities. However, the leaks have also been hinting that she can potentially become the main DPS but only if players unlock her sixth Constellation level.

Genshin Impactis available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
