Summary
Genshin Impacthas revealed the full list of characters that will be featured on the Event Banners in the first half of Version 4.7, and some 4-Stars are still conspicuously missing. Though Version 4.7 is introducing three new characters toGenshin Impact, it will also feature a re-run of two important 5-Stars. Both Alhaitham and Furina play a notable role in the current meta, with the former considered one of the best Hyperbloom units in the entire game. Alhaitham is expected to join Clorinde on the Event Banners in the first half, followed by Furina and Sigewinne in the second half of Version 4.7.
However, the4-Star characters inGenshin Impactthat will be accompanying Alhaitham and Clorinde were the subject of heavy speculation. The two names on everyone’s lips were Kaveh and Chevreuse, as Kaveh hasn’t been seen on any Event Banner since his debut over a year ago, while Chevreuse’s absence from Arlecchino’s banner implied that she would make an appearance on Clorinde’s banner instead – due to her role as a healer that allows Overload teams to shine.

It would seem that HoYoverse has decided to go in a different direction for Version 4.7, as Sethos in the first half will be joined by Thoma and Bennett instead, with the latter having his third re-run since the launch of Fontaine. In terms of how synergistic the 4-Stars are with Clorinde and Alhaitham, an honest answer would be very little. Sethos is an Electro hypercarry, and Clorinde’s passive having a low ATK cap makes Bennett’s buff trivial. WhileAlhaitham inGenshin Impactcan be used in Burgeon teams with Thoma, it is far from an ideal setup for the Dendro 5-Star.
Genshin Impact Version 4.7 First Half Characters
HoYoverse’s choice for the 4-Stars in Version 4.7 is already controversial among players, as many of them worry thatGenshin Impactwill forgo running the newly introduced 4-Stars in favor of flooding the banners with old units from Version 1.0. Chevreuse is arguably one of the most successful 4-Stars in the Fontaine era (alongside Charlotte for Furina), and the fact that she hasn’t been paired with the twoOverload characters inGenshin Impactis frustrating for many players.
Though Clorinde also favors Aggravate as an Elemental Reaction, the omission of any Dendro 4-Stars on her banner speaks to the same problem – a lack of any synergy. The weapon banner follows a similar pattern, as it features only one exclusive 4-Star weapon, and since it happens to be the Lithic Spear, having no Liyue characters on the character banner makes it an equally confusing choice. That being said, the signature weapon forClorinde inGenshin Impactis worth pulling for, and even if players obtain the Light of Foliar Incision instead, it remains Clorinde’s second-best option.
