Genshin Impacthas officially revealed that Charlotte and Furina are coming in the game’s 4.2 update, expected to arrive in November. As HoYoverse gears up for the release of its first update following the debut of the Fontaine region, the next patch has plenty in store for players. Version 4.1 will introduce Fontaine’s Fortress of Meropide area alongsidetwo new characters in Neuvilletteand Wriothesley, as well as a plethora of new weapons. Now, however, players are already getting an early look at the following update’s lineup.
While HoYoverse has yet to reveal many details aboutGenshin Impact’s Version 4.2, rumors about the update have already gotten many players excited. The patch is heavily rumored to introduce one of Fontaine’s most highly-anticipated characters to the game with the debut of Hydro Archon Furina. Furina has quickly become a fan-favorite amongGenshin Impactplayers for her role during the opening act of Fontaine’s story, clashing with the Traveler in the court of the Opera Epiclese. HoYoverse has now confirmed those rumors with the newest of its “drip marketing” reveals.

A new update toGenshin Impact’s social media accounts has revealed two characters will be added to the game during Version 4.2. The first of HoYoverse’s typical “drip marketing” posts used to reveal new characters would confirmthe rumored launch of Furina for Version 4.2. The post reveals her expected status as a Hydro element character, given her status as the element’s Archon, while also teasing her background as the “God of Justice.” Furina and Version 4.2 are currently expected to launch on November 8.
The second post fromGenshin Impactconfirms another new character set to release alongside Furina with a familiar face for players. Charlotte will debut as the second new character of Version 4.2, confirming the Steambird Reporter will join the game as a Cryo character. Players have already been given plenty of opportunities to become acquainted with Charlotte withinGenshin Impact, both through her involvement with Fontaine’s story and her first appearance duringVersion 3.7’s flagship event. While Charlotte’s rarity was not revealed, she is expected to debut as a four-star character.
The addition of Furina and Charlotte toGenshin Impactcome as two of the most hotly-anticipated characters from the game’s newest region. The region has already seen several popular characters debut, with Lyney and his siblings appearing in Version 4.0 and the previously mentioned launch of Wriothesley and Neuvillette. Many more characters appearing in Fontaine’s story are also rumored to beadded toGenshin Impact’s roster soon including Naviaand Clorinde among others. Furina’s banner will look to achieve the same levels of success asGenshin Impact’s past Archons.
