A newGenshin Impactofficial teaser has revealed a lot of new characters that will arrive in the upcoming Fontaine region which is expected to arrive in the next couple of months. The release of a new main nation is the main event for most Travelers since it introduces tons of new content, from new explorable terrain to a new set of playable units.
Before the addition of each new major region, developer HoYoverse usually releases a couple of teaser videos that hint at the upcoming content. Even though Fontaine’s exact release date is yet to be officially revealed,Genshin Impactplayers can expect the Hydro nation to arrive in the second half of August.

Genshin Impact’s official YouTube channel has posted a video called Overture Teaser: The Final Feast in which they finally confirm the characters that will play a significant role in Fontaine. The video starts by showing a female character falling deep into the water before she suddenly wakes up, and the teaser reveals that this has been part of a trick performed by thefamous magician duo of Lyney and Lynette. The fact that they are the two characters that first appear in the video could indicate that Lyney and Lynette will most likely be featured in the upcomingGenshin Impactversion 4.0. Recent rumors have revealed that Lyney will be a five-star character while his assistant Lynette will have a lower four-star rarity.
Fans are excited that the second character shown in the video seems to be holding a Geo Vision. HoYoverse has not introduced a new Geo Vision holder sinceYunjin who arrived way back in update 2.4 which was over 500 days ago. The last five-star Geo character to join the roster was the gang leader Arataki Itto who was part ofGenshin Impactupdate 2.3.
The teaser has also revealed a new character that has a tall male model type who has been rumored for months.The character’s name is apparently Wriothesley, and he will be a new Cryo user. Previous leaks have also revealed that Wriothesley could join the Standard Banner, similar to what HoYoverse did with Tighnari once his limited banner expired.
The video confirmed previous rumors thatone of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers Arlecchino, will play the role of the main villain in the upcoming story. She is known as a cold-hearted character who would even betray her leader, The Tsaritsa, at least according to one of Tartaglia’s voice lines.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
