Kratos has not typically been a character to charge into battle with a full suit of armor, but thanks to a new mod for 2018’sGod of War, players can do just that by turning the titular god into aDestiny 2Titan. The mod follows the addition of new armor cosmetics toDestiny 2’s Eververse shop forSeason of the Deep, with the cosmetics taking direct influence from some of PlayStation’s biggest and more recent exclusives. It is reflective of Sony’s purchase of Bungie in 2022, and the mod looks to ensure the influence is felt both ways after the addition of the new Eververse items.
2018’sGod of Warsaw Kratos residing in a new land where the Norse gods reign while attempting to live a peaceful life with his new family. The peace is upended following the death of his wife, Faye, and the appearance of a powerful stranger, forcing Kratos and his son, Atreus, to begin their journey to spread Faye’s ashes from the highest peak in the nine realms. Their journey sees them traverse strange new worlds, meet several new allies who aid the pair, and battle dangers that give the former god of war pause.

During Kratos and Atreus' journey, players can equip select pieces of armor to give Kratos some additional protection from the threats the pair face, but it is primarily limited to a chest piece and bracers. The newDestiny 2-influenced mod, shown off by Reddit user No-Contribution-5305, decks out the former god of war from head-to-toe in the originalTrials of OsirisTitan armor. However, the set’s mark is the only piece missing from the mod, though it is possible the narrative items kept on Kratos' belt may prevent the original modder from changing its appearance.
The mod was met with largely positive feedback from other Reddit users, many of whom compliment the accuracy with which the Trials armor set was created inGod of War. A common observation is how Kratos' style of combat is befitting Titans, who are typically known for charging head-first into battle with guns blazing and fists flying. Some suggest taking the mod a step further and trying to change the appearance of Kratos’Leviathan Axeand Blades of Chaos to more Titan-appropriate weapons, such as the Hammer of Sol or the Iron Battle Axe.
It would not be surprising if this mod is, inadvertently, the first example ofDestiny 2finding its way into other PlayStation titles in manners similar to the newer Eververse cosmetics. The sci-fi looter shooter already has cosmetic items available in titles likeFortniteandFall Guys, allowing die-hard guardians to show off their love of the series in said games. In that vain, it is entirely possible a game likeGhost of Tsushimacould have some bonus items added to the game to haveJin Sakaichannel his inner Hunter.
God of Waris currently available for PC and PlayStation 4.
