From following the main story to completing Favors, players have the freedom to explore the massiveGod of War Ragnarok’s realms to discover their secrets and history. One of these secrets is a locked door in the Forbidden Sands desert that sparks curiosity in Mimir’s mind.

How To Finish The Desert Door Favor Guide In God Of War Ragnarok
When reaching The Forbidden Sands in Alfheim, particularly its northern side, Kratos comes across a weird door that requires a key split into two halves. Mimir and Kratos discuss what could be behind that door but luckily, it is a part of a side quest. So, to finish the Desert DoorFavor InGod Of War Ragnarok, players must visit multiple areas and finish another Favor first.
How To Finish Freyr’s Gift Favor In God Of War Ragnarok
The keys won’t appear until lightning up Freyr’s statue, located to the west of The Forbidden Sands desert. Once players step in, Freyr’s Gift Favor will start, andplayers should solve a puzzleinside to light the statue.
The area contains three Crystals while players only need two to light up the statue. First, clear the parasites on the right side to free one of the Crystals.
Next, go to the right side and take off the Crystal to remove the lightning bridge. Then, throwKratos’ Leviathan Axe on the Twilight Stone. The Axe will bounce back to tear up the parasite blocking the way and players can now return the Crystal back to recreate the lightning bridge.
Now, go back to the left side, grab the free Crystal and get to one of the two mechanisms and place it to light the first part.
For the second mechanism, remove any of the remaining two Crystals and place them to light Freyr’s statue.
Once all that is done, Freyr’s Gift Favor is completed and players are now ready to collect the Barrens Keys to open theDesert Door inGod of War Ragnarok.
Alfheim Barrens Keys Location In God Of War Ragnarok
The first half of Alfheim Barrens Key is located right next to Freyr’s statue west of The Forbidden Sands desert. Players can find it immediately after they get out from the side location and taking the Key will initiate The Desert Door Favor.
The second half of Alfheim Barrens Key can be found southeast of The Forbidden Sands desert. After getting the full key, players can now unlock the Desert Door.
How To Defeat The Gravel Belly In Alfheim
When Kratos opens the door, he’ll be knocked by a big monster, initiating a boss fight against a Gravel Belly. The monster is a hard-hitting dangerous moving lizard. Thankfully, it’s a slow-moving boss that can hit really hard, only if its attacks land.
To defeat the Gravel Belly, players should stay close to the lizard head andkeep landing hits in between the boss’s movements. Blocking the boss’s normal and yellow-flashing attacks can be useful to have more time to deal damage. However, be careful of the monster’s red-flashing attacks. Dodge it but quickly return to the Gravel Belly’s head and continue attacking until the boss is down.
