The release date forGrand Theft Auto 6, probably one of the most anticipated games of this generation, is on a lot of people’s lips at the moment, and a recent fiscal report suggests it could be coming out as early as 2024. Over the decades,Rockstar has released some of the industry’s biggest games, includingRed Dead Redemption 2andL.A. Noire, but it’s theGTAseries that most think of when it comes to the Scottish-born studio.
Even before it was officially said to be in development, there wereplenty of rumors aboutGrand Theft Auto 6, such as where it was going to be set, what kind of protagonist the players would get to take control of, and how big the world map was going to be. Of course, there has also been a lot of speculation about when the next game will actually release, with new developments on this front suggesting it could arrive sooner than expected.

According to IGN, it’s possible thatGrand Theft Auto 6could be on track for a 2024 release. This information comes from a Take-Two fiscal report which says that the company has, over the last few years, been preparing to “release an incredibly robust pipeline of products,” adding that these could unleash a new era which will result in a net gain of over $8 billion. Given that Fiscal 2025 begins in April 2024, the report strongly suggests that something big is on the way, possibly more than one release. As such, it’s not hard to see why many would assume this is in relation toGTA 6, even though it’s not mentioned anywhere.
It goes without saying that readers should take this information with a pinch of salt. At the time of writing, it’s still not clear when the hotly anticipated game will actually launch. However, since thegreatGrand Theft Auto 6leak of 2022, it’s been difficult for fans and the industry at large to not talk about it, and it was already on a lot of people’s minds before the early development footage was leaked to the public.
Eventually, Rockstar or Take-Two will have to make some sort of announcement about the whereabouts of the sixth installment. WithGTA 5being as successful as it is, even 10 years after releasing, it’s understandable that so many want to know when the next entry will come out, especially after all these leaks and rumors.
